quake_stuff


I've been testing Quake a bit to get some info that helps me create my maps and stuff. Maybe these data will draw your attention too and if there were things you wondered at while playing Quake - like why do deathknights sometimes gib on supershotgun; why is it that sometimes enforcers gib on one shot of rocket and sometimes not; why do spawns get stuck in the hall of e4m5 - then here it is all worked out:

This map is more like a tutorial. It shows you some tricks, strange phenomenons and stuffs like that, which can be carried out in plain Quake. Near each thing there is a button with a question mark on it, which tells you how to create the thing. The MAP source is also attached in the ZIP file, so you can check it out exactly in a map-editor. The whole map is flat like a Wolfenstein level, so the XY view of the MAP file is very synoptical.


DAMAGE & HEALTH  

These tables show you the more or less exact values (if not, then mentioned) of damages of monsters and waepons or traps and the health of each monster. You will need to know the meanings of this characters:

-the maximal damage in case of direct hit.
*only one movement of the attack, for example swinging a sword
