PlanetQuake and OverDrive PC at QuakeCon!
Ph4t loot and trick-jumps to boot!
This is the first
of two very sweet announcements for PlanetQuake at QuakeCon
2002! I'm happy and excited to be able to say that PlanetQuake and it's
other events (to be announced) will be powered by the fine folks at Overdrive
PC. Long time active members of the Q3 community, these guys put their moves
where their mouths are when they claim to build "Game Boxes for Gamers, by Gamers".
With some very popular Q3 servers of their own and more than an unhealthy fetish
for Q3 trick jumping, OPC knows how to push technology the direction the "gamers"
love with their hand crafted and carefully tweaked gaming rigs! You can get
a quick lesson in just how hardcore OPC is in their recent series of Q3 trick
jumping movies and the forums
they provide the community. These films are also hosted on my personal page. Combining
these things with their expert knowledge and support for the custom gaming machines
they build made them a top pick when it came to preparing a list of who we'd
team up with for the event. Now why should you care "who's" gaming machine I
use at the event? Here's why baby... You could win it!
OPC will be building
a custom QuakeCon 2002 gaming
rig for PlanetQuake to use exclusively at the event. Now, the exciting part
is that instead of taking it home, we'll be giving it away to one lucky fragger
on the last day of QuakeCon 2002! The cost of the beast will be shared equally
between OPC and myself just so we can give it away! Now how about your first
taste of the machine's specs?

I win something this kool" you ask? We've come up with something special in
that regard as well. We'll be giving away 1000 "Special Edition" OPC
