PlanetQuake Creature Feature Contest
Come scare us for booty!
Need blood here...MAKEUP!
It's party time pumpkin heads, and you're gonna supply the entertainment for the whole PQ readership! We're looking for some real scares here in the first possibly annual PlanetQuake Creature Feature Contest! Basically, you've got two weeks to create a film horror classic using Quake III, now here's what you need to do.
The film must be made in Quake III and submitted in avi format with a two minute timelimit. I urge, beg and plead that you take advantage of some of the custom levels and models you'll find all over the place, but do give the creators credit in the readme file. The theme is horror for Hallowe'en so lots of bumps, grinds and big clawed beasties! Revive Rocky Horror for all I care, just remember a good soundtrack could be the deciding factor.
You'll have almost two weeks to think, create and submit 'cause the due date on these babies is Monday October 29th so we have time to judge these puppies up for the big Hallowe'en movie extravaganza as we pimp the top entries right on PQ and present them for the world. Your judges are Hellchick, Sluggo and little old me, but we're easy to impress with coloured lights and shiny objects.
Submitting the flicks is the trick, since these bad boys are gonna weigh in with some serious bytes. Try to have them placed somewhere we can pick them up. You won't have a massive bandwidth hit since there's only three judges, and this will be the quickest way to get us your entries. Simply mail me, Pappy-R, with details on your entry and where we can grab it from. These will not be submitted by mail, and any that arrive by mail will not be judged.
For those that are new to the fine art of making avi's from Q3 demos, we've started an info and tutorial thread in the PQ Forums with links you might need (thnx Ice!).
Trick or Treat!
Big thanks to our sponsors MyGameWear.com, Clandestyne Software and GameSpy Arcade who all put up goodies in a hurry for this little event. Now let's see what you've got behind that mask...
