Match 2A - Round 2

Ash   Pappy-R
vs

Timelimit: 15 minutes

Fraglimit: None

The Map

The map selected for this match is Golconda by Bal. While this will be the first time that Ash has played on this map in competition, Pappy-R just came out of a solid victory in the first round on this same map. It will be interesting to see if Ash can overcome this experience deficit.

Pre-Match Comments

Pappy-R

Comments: Judging from the results of the first round, Ash and Sluggo are not to be taken lightly. I have to take Ash on in BAL3DM2, the same map I took Will to town on. I don't think that gives me an advantage, but that's just gonna make this game all the better. I expect a close game here, and there's no way I can afford to give up ping advantage like I did with Will. Ash is gonna get my best game and it'll be up to him to take it from there.

It's all about the title here, and it's gonna be mine. I expect to go undefeated which means Ash has to go down. I hope the break we had was enough to snap his momentum 'cause this guy was riding the crest of a pain dealing wave. Now it's time for him to feel the pain, no matter what weapon I have, he's gonna bleed...and bad!

Ash

Comments: My predictions for the outcomes of the rounds so far have been pretty much right on, and so I've been expecting this match-up. Pappy-R and I have played each other several times in the past, and it has never been an easy match. I've been practicing up on bal3dm2, trying to make sure that I understand the balance of the match. Pappy's a good player, but I think I can beat him this round. One thing that I noticed is that his match with Will (1b) wasn't a very high scoring match, and from my practice on the map, it leads me to believe that both players had a lot to improve on understanding the flow of the level. I think I'm going to win this match, if not from outmatching Pappy on skill, then from pure 0wn3rsh1p of the map.

No hard feelings, but I'm gonna roll over Pappy-R like a paper cup in a parking lot. Quick, painless, and ya wouldn't even know what happened, except you kinda hear something that makes you look back in your rear view mirror and go, "Whoops".
