Top Dawg FFA Seeding

Final Score

2. Pappy-R: 30
3. Hellchick: 29
4. Sluggo: 26
5. Will: 13
6. Love2Play: --

Synopsis

Ash:

This first match of Top Dawg excitement was exactly what we had hoped for from the competition: fun, intense, and close! The scores were very close for the majority of the match, and at times it was very difficult to try and discern who was going to come out in what spot, especially in the middle ranks where the competition seemed the toughest (as shown by the statistics). The beginning of the match was marked with our own little myriad of difficulties. The most tragic was from Love2Play. L2P is notorious for being wicked skilled in Free for All battles, but was taken out of the running before the match started by connection difficulties. Getting the remaining five players on the server was also a little bit of a challenge, with technicalities just about taking out another favorite competitor Hellchick. Luckily she has all kinds of science, and got back onto the server just in time to get things fired up.

After some great server voodoo by CitizenC (whom served for this FFA), the match was on and intense. Of course, even though there were some excellent skillz displayed during this Free for All... we all know that the real competition has yet to even begin. Better keep an eye on the upcoming 1v1's... this is going to be great.

There hadn't been too many votes cast in the big poll by the time the preliminary heat was over. However, most of that is because a lot of the Top Dawg followers had yet to find the poll and cast a vote for their favorites. However, now that the FFA seeding is in and readers can see the performance that has been displayed so far, you can expect more votes to be cast. In fact, if you haven't made your mark on the big poll, do that now! It's going to be active for the entirety of the event.

As you can see from the chart above, Hellchick was favored to win the match and the event with 34.2% of the ballot count. That doesn't come as a huge surprise considering her almost immeasurable popularly in the Quake Community, and everyone remembers the results from the Female Frag Fest of yore. However, clearly nipping at her heals in the public opinion is Pappy-R with 28.2% of the vote. There is no denying the skillz that are present in our current PlanetQuake Site Director, and a number of faithful PlanetQuake readers are already coming out to show their support for the man in charge. In a relatively distant third at the time of the FFA heat is Ash. One has to wonder if Ash's strong performance in the preliminary heat will sway some popular opinion in his direction. Tied for fourth place in the eyes of our readers are Love2Play and Sluggo, then last, but certianly not least, Will. Most of our readers don't really know much about our newest face on the Planet, but if Will can make a solid performance in the coming 1v1 rounds, he's sure to make a lasting impression.
