Top Ten Reasons Quake 3: Team Arena Rocks
We picked the top ten features of Q3:TA that topped the list of complete 0wnage.
  — by Pappy-R and Ash

Ash: Everyone has had some time to play Quake 3: Team Arena now, and here at PlanetQuake we think it's a blast. But what makes Team Arena so great? Good Question! Pappy-R and I are going to tell you with the Top Ten Reasons Quake 3: Team Arena Rocks!

Nothing like capping with squid-head here.
#10 - Interchangable Head Models

Ash: It's just fun to personalize a model with a head of your choice. And I really like how the community has started making head models, it adds diversity to the game without breaking the uniformity that's present in Team Arena. Although, it does remind me of that sequal to the Wizard of Oz...

Pappy-R: Any little tricks like this that pop up, always mean that there's another toy for the creative community to play with...and they do! I still get Pic of the Day mail with people claiming this is a bug.

Atchung!
#9 - Fritzkrieg

Pappy-R: Don't ask me why but this guy has cracked me up since I played the 1v1 single player stuff in TA. great model, animation and sounds. A blast from the Wolfenstein past.

Ash: I remember seeing pics of this guy and Pi back before we even knew what the mission pack was going to be. I'm happy to see that they both made it into the pak.

It's just bubbling with chewy goodness.
#8 - Invulnerability

Ash: I can't put my finger on it, but there is just something awesome about being inside of a giant superball and watching rails and rockets bounce off your protective shell. Being held in one position is a fantastic way of keeping the powerup from being too powerful, too.

Pappy-R: The bubble of fun. Oh yeah this one's a hoot, and after you find out you can get a proxy in there to cuddle the user, you pray for someone to use it. Light it up fun boy!

Forge me baby, forge me hard.
#7 - New Maps

Pappy-R: Some of the new maps are just stand out levels for the game play. Scornforge owns me!

Ash: No doubt, all of the new maps for Team Arena are fantastic. It's up to the level designers to really show off the talent of the artists and programmers in any game, and id Software does it best.

And this is the beauty that spits out skulls.
#6 - Gametypes

Ash: If I had to say that Team Arena brought only one thing to Quake 3: Arena, it would be variety. One of the most promenant forms of that variety is the different available gametypes that are present in TA.

Pappy-R: I love Harvester huge! Nothing like railing an enemy who had a nice growth of skulls! Die, die, die! Oh, sorry...I'm back, yeah I like the new game modes.

Next, the Top Ten continues...
