i PLAY QUAKE2 AND 3 AND I LOVE MODELS OR SKINS OR WHATEVER AND I HAVE GOTTEN A LOT OF MY MODELS FROM YOUR SITE, BUT FOR A LONG TIME I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE NEXT MODEL OF THE MONTH, AND IT HAS BEEN ATLEAST TWO MONTHS AND THE MODEL IS STILL THAT DAMN SLITH GUY. WTF!
Unfortunately, there's a damn good reason why the Quake2 Featured Model hasn't been updated in awhile... there are far less Q2 models being released currently than there were in the heyday. However, you can always catch up on the latest Q2 releases as soon as they come out by checking PQ's skin and model central, Polycount!
How can I go about creating my own models? What software do I need??

Most modellers use 3D modelling programs like 3D Studio Max and Milkshape. Unfortunately, most of them are mighty expensive, and there's usually a steep learning curve regardless of what you use. At any rate, the place for info on creating models is the same place fans get them when they're done... the aforementioned Polycount!

The NFL does have instant replay! It's had it for two years now. Welcome to
1999 :) Now you lose a timeout if your challenge does not go through, ending
the free timeout exploit. I take it you haven't watched a game in two years?
Lee'Mon: Hmm, let's see... nope, haven't watched a pro football game in at least two years. Biggest reason? For the last two years, I've attended the university that hosts the current #1-ranked college football team. Football here is a religion and a science, and church is every Saturday.
As a result, if football isn't entirely your thing (as is the case for me), you are literally OD'd around here. Combine that with a disdain for watching most television in general (it's too passive for me... I'd rather be fragging), and no, I haven't sat down and watched a pro football game where instant replay was used.
Demonwench: Don't look at me. I've known about "instant replay" for a veerry long time. But, I don't keep up with the pro stuff that much (except for the Packers, those are m'boyz! ;-)), so I din't know about the removal of instant replay. I just knew they had it and I was happy.
Lee'Mon: So yes, someone officially knows less about football than me. Happy? ;^) Now that we've digressed enough, let's get back to the writin'!

NO im not asking for them.
Okay so I just found out that the damn see through
drivers work fine for Q3...
Im a programmer by trade and wanted to work on a mod
for Q3 but whats the point if the game has this huge
gaping cheat looming over it. This to me appears to
make fair internet play completly impossible. Talking
to the guys they say they can make it look like they
are running the map like normal, just lets em kill at
will. Please don't lecture on how bad cheaters are or
how they are cheating themselves in the end(as we all
know that). But we also know that today people will
win anyway they can no matter what.
I was hoping Q3 would be immune. I mean it ruins
CS,Q2,UT and now Q3...
Im really depressed. Is true competition delegated to
lan parties only as youll never know what your
opponent is truly seeing.
Please help! Are there any going on's to fix this
thing? Please tell me they are working on the problem. Help.
Sorry, not a whole lot can be done. The drivers (ASUS's biggest blunder in a long, long time) exploit at the only level they can: between the renderer and the hardware. They designed them without any thought for the multiplayer gaming ramifications. Sure, they were only given to a handful of websites, but it only took one person for SeeThrough to reach malicious hands... needless to say, it happened.
The only way to defeat it is to alter the renderer (Q3A) so it never sends the hardware information about anything that isn't visible. However, that proves exceedingly difficult; for one thing, the rendered usually doesn't bother to take into account the fact that players on the other side of an opaque wall can be seen. If the renderer were re-coded to be completely See-Through-proof, players on the other side of that tinted glass might disappear from their view.
Mind you, I'm not John Carmack. But ASUS struck gamers where it hurts; it's part of the reason I cooperated with RivaStation to cover the SeeThrough situation for GameSpy. It's not the first time these exploits have been available, but it's certainly the most accessible. Thankfully, it only works with nVidia cards. Guess it's time to be thankful that 3dfx is still about 60% of the market out there...
Subject: Quake III - Singleplayer
Are there any single player maps or modes in which U fight like in QuakeII or QuakeI with other monsters and such...?
Not just maps, I'm afraid. Q3A is multiplayer-only. The single-player game is just bots warming you up for online play. There are several single-player mods in development, but they're all in extremely early stages. While several show promise, most right now play the same as facing a series of bots. Make no mistake, a single-player Q3A mod is a serious undertaking... it will take time, but I'm sure we'll eventually see results.
