What do you think of WFA? (submitted by CitizenC)

Answer Votes

It's great! I LOVE it! WFA has made me its bitch.
363
19.3%
It's okay; definitely better then average.
179
9.5%
It's alright - nothing exciting.
80
4.2%
I don't like it; I prefer Q3Fortress.
182
9.7%
It's horrible! 60 Megs for a mod?! And you thought Q3F was big!
107
5.7%
I haven't played it yet.
964
51.4%

Mynx: Um... I'll have to say "Boobies"...
Spyke: I can't play it, as I only have 64 MB of RAM! Please send me RAM.. I'll be your best friend!
Tetsuo: Boobies. Definately. Boobies-Boobies-Boobies-Boobies-Boobies
Pappy-R: ROCK! Solid fun, fun, fun! How much and what type of RAM ya want Spyke? Welcome Pap-Mart shoppers.
shaithis: I am the complete opposite of Spyke. I have a 600mhz processor, 256mb of ram, and GeForce DDR... and not a single game installed on this machine. D'oh!
Hellchick: WFA definitely rocks. I've been dipping my toes a little further into the teamplay pool these days (how's THAT for an analogy, huh? HUH?), and WFA is definitely at the top of my list.
Lee'Mon: The only thing keeping me away from playing more WFA is Diablo II.
L33t'M0n: The only thing keeping me away from playing more WFA is Lee'Mon. [shouts] Would you stop staring at the Amazon's boobies so I can do something constructive?!?

Q3F or WFA? (submitted by CitizenC)

I like them both -- I'll take my TF wherever I can get it!

11.1%
Q3F - the combination of WFA's huge download size and the mammoth system requirements really put me off.
358
19.2%
WFA - it's more polished and varied than Q3F.

Q3F? WFA? WTF?
274
14.7%
I haven't had a chance to play either one.

Mynx: Boobies.
Spyke: Neither. Ick ick ick.
Tetsuo: Excessive = No Download. Boobies = ROCK.
Pappy-R: I have to say WFA here...that, and boobies!
shaithis: Probably Q3F, as I suspect it's more true to the original (and best mod ever made) Team Fortress for Quakeworld.
Fargo: C'mon you people! Start downloaing stuff! What are you doing here on PlanetQuake if it's not to take id Software's masterpiece and f--k it up beyond all recognition! ;)
Hellchick: No contest, WFA. As for boobies, I suspect they don't play much of a role in either one, unless of course you're a chick and naked while playing either Q3F or WFA.
Lee'Mon: WFA made me its bitch. Q3F used to make me its bitch, but there's a new p1mp in town.
L33t'M0n: And his name is L33t'M0n.

Do you play class-based mods?

Answer Votes
Percentage

I ONLY play class-based mods. If it's not class-based, it's crap!
272
14.5%
I play them a lot, but I throw a deathmatch-type game in occasionally.
484
25.8%
About 50% of the time it's class-based mods for me.
422
22.5%
I almost never play class-based mods.
427
22.7%
I NEVER play class-based mods.
268
14.3%

Mynx: Boobies.
Spyke: Never. Hey, isn't Mynx supposed to be in labour right now?
Tetsuo: Hi. I'm Tet. Your new class is now '0\/\/n3d'. Enjoy. And now for something completely different. Nipples.
Pappy-R: I play them very infrequently online since my play time is actually limited, but I go shopping at malls in a class based frame of mind.
shaithis: Class-based teamplay rules. Deathmatch is good for like fifteen minutes of mindless violence once every three months or so.
Fargo: The whole point of class-based mods is to promote teamplay. I play a lot of team games -- whether their are classes or not, I just like the cooperation.
Hellchick: Geez, you give Mynx a poll login and she destroys the very fabric of the universe with a single word...
Lee'Mon: I'm not only a client of class-based mods, I'm also an author. Generations Arena, anyone?

L33t'M0n: That's it. Promote your own work on company time. I don't care how fantastic Generations Arena is, or how cool Generations Arena is gonna be, or how people should REALLY click on one of these Generations Arena links... that's just not right. But, then again, after seeing this "Excessive" madness... Folks, check out Generations Arena!

In the upcoming Tritin Films production "Quake: The Movie", you have a chance to choose how they take down a menacing Strogg. So how do you do it? (submitted by Tritin Films)

Answer Votes
Percentage

Push him in front of a speeding HUMMV (we like seeing Strogg's fly).
159
8.5%
Shove a grenade in his mouth, make him swallow it, and dangle the pin before his eyes (enjoy the gooey aftermath).
603
32.4%
Have Duke Nukem make a guest appearance, pin the Strogg to the wall and say "Hail to the King, Baby!"
571
30.7%
Shoot his jetpack and watch him soar into the wild blue yonder while screaming and yelling, ultimately slamming into a cliff.
250
13.4%
Shoot the base of a tower and watch as it crushes the Strogg into the dirt.
276
14.8%

Mynx: I'm thinking, Boobies.
Spyke: Systematically rip apart his body, keeping close attention to detail, watching tendons and muscle tear. That would look damn cool.
Tetsuo: The strogg would have some of our yummy office coffee, then puke his insides out onto the floor. Then release the pack of wild hungry dogs.
Pappy-R: Rip his boobies off!!! Credit to Mynx for subliminal message.
shaithis: Our office coffee comes straight from Deidrich's (which is a better, if still somewhat lame, version of Starbucks). It's not like it's that bad.
Fargo: Two words: Weed eater. Or is that one word?
Hellchick: I don't know, but it should involve bacon.
Lee'Mon: From a technical and writer's standpoint, the last two are the easiest to accomplish, and (so long as jetpack boy is an Icarus) far more believeable.
L33t'M0n: Everyone that voted for Duke Nukem can just leave. Right now. Go. I'm not joking. Go to PlanetDuke or something. Friends of that AoD-plagiarizing mama's boy are no friends of mine!

What the hell is Quake III: Team Arena?
349
18.9%

Mynx: Boobies.
Spyke: I won't really know until I get my Special Advance Copy, hint hint!
Tetsuo: Return of the Strength Rune - lasts until you die, right? PHAT! Oh - and Nipples.
Pappy-R: When I get my SIGNED copy, I'll like the "crisco" powerup. Deep fry your enemies with all the intended calories.
shaithis: The "Yo Mamma" rune, which conjures up a model in an apron that... ah, this joke isn't going anywhere. The hell with it.
Fargo: Two words: Kama .... kazi. Wait, that's one word, too. Dammit.
Hellchick: Kamikaze, baby. And I'm sticking with that spelling.
Lee'Mon: It's pretty fun to activate the Invulnerability halfway down a major fall... you just freeze right there.
L33t'M0n: Fear my Kamakaze! I love it so much I'll blow myself up when no one's around! That's just me, though.

Which new weapon in Q3:TA are you most looking forward to?

The nailgun! Oh, how I yearn for it from the days of Quake 1.

The chaingun - it rocked in Q2, it'll rock in Q3A.

I don't like any of them!
165
8.9%

Mynx: Say it with me now... Boobies.
Spyke: Nailgun, baby. And there had better be a NIN logo on the ammo boxes!
Tetsuo: Nipplegun.
Pappy-R: Chaingun! How many times do I have to say this?! The...freaking...Chaingun...Rocks!!
shaithis: So how come no one can come up with anything *new* these days? It's all just rehashes of the same old weapons from previous games. MAKE WITH THE YAWNING!
Fargo: Proximity mines. Camper's delight. See Fargo Learns to Camp, which I wrote back in the Quake I days...
Hellchick: I'm betting that if you dig really deep into that code, one of the id guys hid that weapon in there somewhere, Tet.
Lee'Mon: Unreal tried new weapons. NO ONE LIKED THEM. If the chaingun is half as lethal as it was at E3 (and I hear it'll be exactly half as lethal), I'll be wasting bullets like there's no tomorrow.
L33t'M0n: Coincidentally, Lee'Mon's love of Invulnerability and my love of Prox Mines go hand in hand... [evil grin] Mmm. Jello bubble.

Who are these people anyway?

Hellchick is the PQ Site Director, or at least has convinced her friends that she is.
Pappy-R is PQ's News Jockey and Part-time Table Dancer.
Spyke does the PQ in Review, the PQ Mailbag, and your girlfriend.
Lee'Mon writes articles and editorials for PQ, which means he's really into finding things to complain about.
shaithis is a former PQ Site Director who now spends his days running GameSpy.com and sharpening the spikes on the top of his cubicle. You think we're kidding.
Fragmaster also used to run PQ, and now manages ClassicGaming.com and the console section of the GameSpy network. He also enjoys the occasional potted tuna.
Mynx is our resident advice expert, knowledgeable about all sorts of topics that the rest of us are just too scared to touch.
Tetsuo performs miracles that mere mortals cannot understand as part of the tech team at GameSpy. He also really likes bacon. Even more than Hellchick.
Fargo has been around since the beginning of PQ. He's been known to camp everything, including the poll.
