Which of the four Quake 2 CTF powerups is the best?

Answer Votes
Percentage

Power Amp: I'll take twice the damage dealing for $200, Alex.
369
21.9%
Time Accelerator: what I lack in accuracy I'll make up for in bulk!
221
13.1%
Disruptor Shield: forget the offensive techs - I'll take half the damage anytime.
119
7%
Auto Doc: nothing like your own personal, portable doctor!
456
27.1%
I never played Q2 CTF.
360
21.4%
Time Accelerator, Auto Doc, whatever...they're all the same to me!
155
9.2%

Mynxholio: I'm gunna come out of the closet here and say Q2 just didn't roast my bean. And stuff.
Spyke: None. Couldn't stand Q2CTF. Don't hurt me!
Pappy-R: Powerups! We don't need no steenking Powerups! Or a grapple either, so there.
Fargo: All I needed was the AutoDoc and a railgun. Thank you Drive through.
Lee'Mon: Power Amp + Super Shotgun = SUCKA!
L33t'M0n: Better yet: Power Amp + Quad + Rocket = S-U-C-K-A!!!
Hellchick: Gotta go with the Autodoc. And I think Spyke's a weenie for not liking Q2CTF. I loved it.
shaithis: I never once played Q2CTF, because why play CTF when you can play a TF style game, and have more fun?

Where are all the single-player Q3A mods?

Answer Votes
Percentage

It's a crime, I tell ya! Valve must have bought them all!
449
26.9%
They're all in hiding. They want to surprise us.
217
13%
I guess classic single-player in Q3A is REALLY hard to do.
488
29.2%
To tell you the truth, I haven't really missed single-player.
515
30.8%

Mynxholio: Do geeks REALLY need to spend even more time playing with themselves? I think not.
Spyke: They're hiding in my closet. Now if you ask nicely, I'm sure they'll come out when they're ready.
Pappy-R: Pretty, pretty please come out little SP Mods. Come out to plaaaaay.
Fargo: Nothing about Quake 3 was built for single player. There are no single-player-style monsters, just bots. I guess nobody out there is up to the challenge...
Lee'Mon: One of the guys on my team thought it'd be the simplest thing. Well, a SP mod is DAMN hard to do right.
L33t'M0n: That's just because you're a namby-pamby wussy little fruitbat.
Hellchick: I'm going to make a Hellchick single-player mod where you get to be me for a day. Feel the rush as you sit at a desk! Thrill to the escapades of updating the main page! [disclaimer: my job actually is pretty cool.]
shaithis: id's not exactly known for brilliant single player games. Find key, open door, kill monsters, exit level. Their excellence has always been in engine and art.

How important is your mouse to your skill?

Answer Votes
Percentage

It's ALL in the mouse!
377
22.7%
It's mostly my mouse - I tend to suck if I use a different one.
416
25.1%
It's somewhat important - give me a few warm-up games and I'll be whoopin' your ass like your momma used to do.
595
35.9%
I could use a two buttom Zoltrex serial mouse and still be "da man".
268
16.1%

Mynxholio: My mouse makes me feel all funny inside.. I'm not sure if it's love - or disgust that it cost forty freakin dollars. It shore has a purty mouth, though.
Spyke: Not very. I had a mouse that I liked, and it broke. So I got a crap one in the interim; I've been playing with that crap one now for 6 months. It's not the machine, it's what you do with it.
Pappy-R: Since I have achieved a telepathic interface with my machine, I...oh never mind. A decent mouse that you're used to using is fine.
Fargo: 11.
Lee'Mon: Not nearly as important as my force-feedback VR gear and "puck" control. Now who's the "l33t" one?!?
L33t'M0n: Mouse? You people are allowed to use a mouse?
Hellchick: [too busy stroking her Logitech Wingman Gaming Mouse lovingly to answer.]
shaithis: As soon as I get used to the mouse, it doesn't matter. Right now I have an optical mouse, which is probably bad for gaming, but it's like the sweetest sugar for photoshop.

When you're waiting for PQ to load, what do you hope to find?

New Models/skins for a nice change.
158

A particular new mod you've been following.

What's PQ?

I don't go to PQ, and I have no idea how I got here.
133
8%

Mynxholio: Any Paul Steed iotd is good by me.. wait.. oh god... aiiie
Spyke: I hope to find that it works, so I don't have to spend any time agonizing over it. That and my name somewhere. :)
Pappy-R: All my news properly sitting right where I put it. And no news I didn't put there, which would mean id has come out with something while I ate or slept and Hellchick has posted it for me, 'cause id always does that to me!! They wait till I'm gone from my machine, they know ya know, then they come out with something really really cool that...and then...
Fargo: New mods are the shit. Even the bad ones.
Lee'Mon: Mods, mods, mods. Even if they feature the same half-skinned flamethrower and chainsaw that I've been staring at for over a year now.
L33t'M0n: News of Lee'Mon's demise.
Hellchick: 521 people look at the Hellchick Cam-o-Rama? And it was only ONE shy of being the winning vote?! You people really ARE as sick as I thought you were. Oh, and Pappy, the mission pack went gold while you were in the bathroom. [disclaimer: at the time of this writing, the Cam-O-Rama vote was behind by one, with the "new mod" vote winning. I guess two more people decided to vote for the cam just before I outputted the results. So yes, I can count.]
shaithis: "load"? I've been blessed with broadband since 1997. There is no "load". :)

What is the ideal number of players for a CTF match? (submitted by tprs {triad})

Answer Votes
Percentage

4: I like a small, intense game.
64
3.9%
6-10: not too few, not too many.
844
51.8%
10-20: enough to get a good strategic layout of the soldiers!
512
31.4%
More than 20: you could have a teammate camping everything but the kitchen sink!
150
9.2%
What's CTF stand for?
59
3.6%

Mynxholio: I'm always up for a little group action.
Spyke: Yeah, between 3-5 to a team is good; you can fill a variety of roles that way. It depends on the map, too.
Pappy-R: It's 11.4...Newbies count, but not much. Kidding, I love newbies. (no mail please)
Fargo: Three on three works great on a small to mid-sized map. One guy on Defense, one guy on offense, and one guy covering the ass of the guy who needs him more.
Lee'Mon: Pile on the targets! Let's get the Battle of Normandy on this map!
L33t'M0n: I don't mind small games. Just turn team damage on, and I have all the targets I need.
Hellchick: Fargo, that last bit almost sounds like a love story.
shaithis: CTF? No idea, but 16-24 is usually perfect for TF.

Has anyone noticed that any answer with the word "Hellchick" in it always gets the most votes? (submitted by Creation)

Mynxholio: Hey, at least she's not Fargo.
Spyke: You people are pathetic. What if I told you that Hellchick was really a man? Huh? What then?
Pappy-R: If you people only knew the truth about Hellchick. (Pappy shakes his head)
Fargo: Hey, at least she's not Mynx. ;)
Lee'Mon: Did anyone NOT see this coming?
L33t'M0n: Hey, it's the girl's birthday. Lay off.
Hellchick: [blink.]
shaithis: I'd like to point out that, while you'll never see it (because HC will edit it out), Fargo submitted his answers twice just to add that smiley face.

Who are these people anyway?

Hellchick is the PQ Site Director, or at least has convinced her friends that she is.
Pappy-R is PQ's News Jockey and Part-time Table Dancer.
Spyke does the PQ in Review, the PQ Mailbag, and your girlfriend.
Lee'Mon writes articles and editorials for PQ, which means he's really into finding things to complain about.
shaithis is a former PQ Site Director who now spends his days running GameSpy.com and sharpening the spikes on the top of his cubicle. You think we're kidding.
Fragmaster also used to run PQ, and now manages ClassicGaming.com and the console section of the GameSpy network. He also enjoys the occasional potted tuna.
Mynx is our resident advice expert, knowledgeable about all sorts of topics that the rest of us are just too scared to touch.
Tetsuo performs miracles that mere mortals cannot understand as part of the tech team at GameSpy. He also really likes bacon. Even more than Hellchick.
Fargo has been around since the beginning of PQ. He's been known to camp everything, including the poll.
