Chris: I'm with the majority on this one, only if it could be done without adverse affects on lag for people with lower bandwidth connections... Not that it applies to me, but gotta make it fair for all.
Bastard: Only if I don't spill my EggNog. And there is a mute button for the annoying people with no life.
crt: Only with people I know. Hearing an AOLer yell "j00 SUCK" is not my idea of peaceful deathmatching
China: I would for CTF or team games, but I think I'd opt out for FFA deathmatch. Ppl would just be cursing each other.
BreadTooth: no, I will still just scream. ROCK!
Gestalt: If it doesn't lag the game I'll give it a try. My lag's bad enough already without adding more to it! Being able to coordinate with team mates and talk smack with your victims rocks.

What's the fanciest jump you use in Quake II?

Chris: Bah, these are all newbie options! Some of the demos I've seen in SPQ use ogre assisted double grenade jumps, for instance the speed demo of 'The Wind Tunnels' episode for Quake. Now that's impressive!
Bastard: That BFG jump sure does strip off the armor and health :)
crt: Anything more than a rocket jump is just showing off :)
China: I see lotsa fancy giblets from those Grenade/Rocket jumps.
BreadTooth: hmmm... that would be the jump from my chair when someone wants to do a Jager shot
Gestalt: I've used a grenade jump a few times, and I'll rocket jump in deathmatch sometimes, but nothing too fancy...

Chris: I'm open to new stuff at the moment, 'cause I'm totally bored with all Quake variations. Blood2 could be awesome when the patch comes along, and Shogo is great for a laugh.
Bastard: Say kids..... you might want to try something a little different occaisionally. Although we played a lot of HL this weekend
crt: Ohh, those other games had multiplayer? QW/Q2 for me..
China: It's still Quake II for me.
BreadTooth: Only LAN gaming for the Tooth yo. No time for crappy pings and packet loss.
Gestalt: Quake II. Looks like it has everything else totally buried at the moment... Though of course this is PlanetQUAKE, so the results are probably a little skewed. ;-) Hm .. six of you playing HexenWorld? That many?

What's the longest you've ever played Quake / Quake II deathmatch at a single sitting without leaving the computer?

Chris: There's no way someone could sit at a screen for over 12 hours without getting up, you people lie! :)
Bastard: CTF ALL NIGHT LONG IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT
crt: mmm.. 36 hours of Beatdown
China: Including coffee breaks? Probably about 9 hours. All nite LANning... awww yeah!
BreadTooth: It wasn't quake, but I remember playing Doom2 DM with Tetsuo, for something like 10-15 hours straight, tying up both of the phone lines in my house because we couldn't get the null modem to work. heh
Gestalt: I entered myself for the "Endurance Quake" tournament at the UKCCL Xmas Frenzy LAN party a couple of weeks back. That lasted 7 or 8 hours in all, and it didn't start until after 1am! I've pulled all-night CTF sessions before as well. Zoid is a fiend - Q2CTF must have something dodgy in the source code. Must .. get .. another .. fix.

Chris: Definitely! Cash in on Intel's stupidity before it's too late and they bus lock all chips.
Bastard: Overclocking is cool. I think it would be cooler if there was more danger involved. Like if your pc might suddenly turn into a fiery ball of molten metal.
crt: Worked for all my friends, but mine just says "NO SOUP FOR YOU" on boot up
China: Ummm, nope. Never tried it.
BreadTooth: no, but I tied up an old girlfriend once. Does that count?
Gestalt: I tried, but the first time my computer crashed, and the second time it decided to detect my P2-300 as a P2-100. Um...

Gestalt: Looks like it stays then.
