Of all of the id software games that have been released, which holds the most warm fuzzy memories for you? [submitted by Ash, Housewares]

Quake II - great OpenGL graphics, multiple model support, and better Internet play.

Quake III Arena - Ooh, curved surfaces, awesome graphics, and great DM.

mynx: the very mention of wolfenstein and doom makes me go "awwwwwww!" in that warm fuzzy way.
Pappy-R: Doom..without a doubt. Imp me!
Lee'Mon: Doom... home of some of my first FPS mod work.
Demonwench: I remember Lee'Mon showing me how to "play Q3." Yeah, that's it...
Fargo: DooM II. What a rush to have some guy chasing you with a double-barreled shotgun for the first time. "You never forget your first frag."
Spyke: Quake I, totally. It gave me nightmares, dammit!
Hellchick: Wolfenstein. My husband -- he was my boyfriend then -- would come up behind me as I played in a dark room and yell, "SPION!!" And I still married him.
shaithis: I recall the night my friend and I first grabbed the DooM shareware. I had to work at 6am the next morning. I was still playing at 5:45. Not sure if that's a "warm, fuzzy" memory, but it's significant.
Ash: I have warm fuzzy memories from every id game, but I got a computer of my own to play classic Quake, and it was the beginning of everything for me.

Do you ever chat with fellow players before/after multiplayer quake? [submitted by Jason]

mynx: omigod, like, gag me with a rocket launcher why don't you.
Pappy-R: I will depending on the topic of conversation. I never do it instead of playing.
Lee'Mon: No, only during. I don't type much, but I'm one of the worst real-life trash talkers you've ever had the misfortune of witnessing.
Demonwench: I play to fight! Bring it on!
Fargo: I type all the time. Frequently, I saw "ow."
Spyke: Nope. Given that I end my playing with "pw33n3d, bitches!", it's probably a good thing.
Hellchick: Usually I get asked, "Are you really Hellchick?" (Yes, I really do get asked that) so I have to answer or they won't shut up and play.
shaithis: I have one key bound to "acknowledged" for Q3F. This is generally the only chatting I do in game, other than an occasional "nice".
Ash: Besides checking to see if Hellchick is really Hellchick, usually just "nice". Unless it's with the [fb] guys, then we have entire exercises in creative trash talking. =)

Do you have the collector's edition Quake 3: Arena tin? [submitted by Sam]

No. I tried, but I fell victim to a Electronics Boutique conspiracy by The Man to keep me down.

Pfft. I'd pretend to care, but I wouldn't do a very good job anyway.

mynx: Yes, in fact I do, and yes, as a matter of fact it IS autographed by everyone at id. Donna Jackson, even!!
Pappy-R: Got the tin but it gots no sigs on it. Damn nice Mynx!
Lee'Mon: Damn right... still unopened, awaiting the promised land.
Demonwench: Ooooo, lookit the tin. What's the point? *watches for punches*
Fargo: What a great stunt. "Get the limited edition collector's tin!" Everyone rushed out to buy it. A couple weeks later, there were TONS more on the shelves. "Get some MORE limited edition collector's tins!" Riiiight.
Spyke: Nope.. I wish.
Hellchick: Signed tin. Right here.
mynx: Notice only chicks have the signed tins. It's the boobs, isn't it?
Ash: Mmmm... boobies... I mean, yeah, I have the tin.
shaithis: Heh. "Collector's Edition". It's a goddamned grey tin box. When I buy a "collector's edition" DVD, it's because it has extra stuff on it. Quake3 is Quake3.

mynx: Whichever is closest. Then you die. DIE I SAY!!
Pappy-R: I have to go with Mynx on this. Whichever I spawn near. If I have high ping I don't even worry about Rail.
Lee'Mon: Come on, was this even a valid question? Oh, and my choice is the Cat Toy from Shogo. "MAGIC CLAW!"
Demonwench: Darn tootin. Gimmie the nearest boomstick!
Fargo: WHERE ... THE HELL ... IS THE RAILGUN!?
Spyke: The gauntlet! I love humiliating people. Betcha didn't know Fargo's not wearing any underwear!
Hellchick: I load up a squirt gun.
shaithis: You know, I really like stirring up shit with the PQ poll. My answers are always really abrasive. It's great. So, uh... chatting in action games SUCKS, and you can all go directly to hell.
mynx: Fargo is wearing underwear. In fact, Fargo is wearing PANTIES. Ask me how I know.
Ash: This went from picking a weapon, to Fargo's panties. Ya, that makes sense.

Lee'Mon: Umm... how about Demonwench? *ducks punch from Demonwench*
Demonwench: *growls* I ain't gonna let myself be traded for a FREAKIN' video game! Not even for Lee'Mon!!
Fargo: So, for all the people who would give up their computer ... What the hell would you PLAY it on?
Spyke: My firstborn child.
Hellchick: [glances at her husband]
shaithis: I'm trying to be nice about Team Arena. I really am. You people keep tempting me, and tempting me. Wait until you hear what I have to say about Doom3.
Ash: got wang? And I think shaithis is just rolling himself up in 5 grit sandpaper every week to slide right into the Poll. ;)

Who are these people anyway?

Pappy-R is the PlanetQuake Site Director and ensures that all the coolness on PQ that happens, happens.
Hellchick is GameSpy's Action Genre Producer, or at least has convinced her friends that she is.
Ash is PQ's Content Manager and doesn't realize that there are other games in the world besides Quake.
Mynx is our resident advice expert, knowledgeable about all sorts of topics that the rest of us are just too scared to touch.
Fargo has been around since the beginning of PQ. He's been known to camp everything, including the poll.
shaithis is a former PQ Site Director who now spends his days running GameSpy.com and sharpening the spikes on the top of his cubicle.
Spyke does the PQ in Review, the PQ Mailbag, and your girlfriend.
Lee'Mon writes articles and editorials for PQ, which means he's really into finding things to complain about.
Demonwench helps with the Mailbag and helps give a fresh new perspective for how people suck.
