What is your favorite gametype in Team Arena?

AnswerVotes

Team Deathmatch, doesn't matter the game... I love the old skool teamwork.

Two Flag CTF, you really can't beat the original CTF.
150
13.2%
One Flag CTF, awe yeah, nice and fast... the way I like it.

5.6%
Harvester, nothing like capping like five times all at once.

Overload, I'm comin' to your home, and I'm gonna break it!

I don't have Team Arena, Santa gave me a lump of coal.
621
54.6%

xnym: 600+ of you are unbelievable dorks.
Basty: Somehow Team Arena hasn't quite caught fire yet.....
Fargo: Don't knock lumps of coal. I made mine into a little dolly.
Pappy-R: Harvester is my fave. Packin' skulls is pure joy!
Hellchick: Definitely Harvester, but Overload runs a close second.
Spyke: *Sniff*.. I don't have Team Arena yet!
Ash: Tought call, all so fun. I think I have a differant fav depending on the map.
Demonwench: That coal Santa gave me, sure does give a purdy light...
Lee'Mon: OVERLOAD ME BABY!!!

How many Quake/Gaming related T-Shirts are in your wardrobe?

AnswerVotes
Percentage

None, Quake hasn't spread to all the parts of my life yet.
826
73.6%
One or two, just some kewl ones I scored at a LAN party.
218
19.4%
Three or four, I don't wear gaming clothes everyday... but often!
28
2.4%
Four+, there are no close like free gaming clothes!
50
4.4%

xnym: There are many Quake/gaming shirts in our lives... CJ even sleeps in a Doom shirt. Gads I even have a big box of unopened Quake/2/3ta/Doom shirts in my closet :P
Basty: Good lord. GET A GAMESPY T-SHIRT. What's funny is that most of the people here at GameSpy walk around wearing Beatdown t-shirts from the past few years.
Fargo: I have so many Quake/QuakeCon/BeatDown T-shirts it's not even funny. No really -- there's no joke there. Not even a chuckle.
Pappy-R: It's far easier to count the non-gaming shirts I have.
Hellchick: Do I really have to count? I have a t-shirt for every Quake and -- AND -- the Quake 2 mission pack Ground Zero. I have 2 shirts for Q3A -- one in black and one in white. Plus my three GameSpy shirts and my Beatdown shirts. I also have 2 Quake III Arena baseball caps.
Spyke: I have a grand total of two gaming shirts; a GameSpy shirt, and an MP3Spy shirt. Funnily enough, I've asked certain people for shirts MANY times, with idle promises made. :)
Ash: QuakeCon 2000 was like FreeShirtCon 2000, and I liked it!
Demonwench: You mean I'm supposed to be completely decked out in Quake stuff?
Lee'Mon: Of course, dear. Just two gaming shirts for me... Occasionally, however, I also wear the ass-kicking GameSpy mug. Guess where... I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

What "postion" do you play in Quake Teamplay?

AnswerVotes
Percentage

I'm all O baby. I carry flags like a bat outta hell.
149
13%
Supporting O. I'm the mean machine that's point for the carrier, AND coverage on the way out.
85
7.4%
Middle D. I'm on patrol, owning the map from our flag to the courtyard.
103
9%
Defense. Hey! Don't you even come into MY house.
177
15.5%
I rotate around to whatever is needed.
440

I don't play teamplay enough to even know.
186
16.3%

xnym: top.
Basty: Come on. Fess up. Everyone rotates.
Fargo: Behind.
Pappy-R: I'm a born goalie and tend to spend most times gaurding the base.
Hellchick: Defense, baby, defense!
Spyke: Defense. I like letting the other team just touch the flag. Go on, touch it!
Ash: Bottom. And supporting O is damn fun too.
Demonwench: What's with all this teamplay? I kill you, you die, that's all that matters, baby!!
Lee'Mon: I got your "teamplay position" right here!

Did Santa make you a happy fragger?

AnswerVotes
Percentage

Yep! Hooked me up with exactly what I wanted (and of course it had a Quake symbol on it).
314
27.8%
Kind of, my gift is useful (I can use it while Quakin').
300
26.6%
No, evidently Santa doesn't know his rocket launcher from his reindeer.
512
45.4%

xnym: "Santa" (read: ME) purchased so many games for certain naughty little children (read: MENTAL) that "Santa" may never see a "rocket launcher" again!
Basty: mynx, you are truly naughty. I picked up a 1ghz system. DEFINATELY A GOOD IDEA.
Fargo: Santa -- and by Santa I mean "months and months of saving -- got me a new PC. Quake 3 runs at 1,043,232,953,134 frames per second. Or thereabouts -- it feels like it, anyways.
Pappy-R: I didn't see a 1ghz box in my stocking!! (/me eyes Basty)
Hellchick: [opens up her present] Hey, look!! Some red team skulls! Aww, Santa, you shouldn't have!
Spyke: Hell yeah! I bought a new system, and got Alice!
Ash: Oh yeah, after a week of using this yellowed out backup monitor (after the first burnt out), Santa hooked me up with a new one! Bigger too!
Demonwench: Can I still get that puppy from last week?
Lee'Mon: Santa got me NOTHING game-related. He can sit on my Gauntlet and spin. Not that I'm bitter or anything... ;^)

How many poll questions have you submitted lately?

AnswerVotes
Percentage

Tons, and I'm lieing through my teeth.

8.4%
One, it was just a spur of the moment thing, I'm going to send in more now.
116
10.3%
Not a single one, and as riddled with guilt as I am, I'm not going to stop thinking until I send in a really good one!
715
63.4%

xnym: Personally, I just like to watch Ash squirm. :P
Basty: I think it's time for an all mynx poll "special". You do take polls, don't you mynxy?
Fargo: We should do a poll question about our favorite commentators -- sorta like the TV show "Survivor," except someone sexier should win.
Pappy-R: Ash never posts my questions. Something about proper content rules or some such $#&*.
Hellchick: Ohh, I remember the days of having to think up witty poll questions.
xnym: That would be "poles", Bastard dear. :D
Spyke: I hope Ash gets NO poll questions, and has to panic like I did.
Ash: Actually, this poll didn't have any submissions, no panicking. Though, I did squirm a little. ;)
Demonwench: I submitted a huuuuuuuge amount of questions, in spirit. Oh, and boobies! '-)
Lee'Mon: Every week, I submit, "Bow before Lee'Mon!!!" Guess it's not really a question...
Ash: Mmmmm, boobies. ( . Y . )

Who are these people anyway?

Pappy-R is the PlanetQuake Site Director and ensures that all the coolness on PQ that happens, happens.
Hellchick is GameSpy's Action Genre Producer, or at least has convinced her friends that she is.
Ash is PQ's Content Manager and doesn't realize that there are other games in the world besides Quake.
Bastard is the man that started it all, from PQ to GameSpy. Besides having kick ass poll comments, he's also our boss.
Mynx is our resident advice expert, knowledgeable about all sorts of topics that the rest of us are just too scared to touch.
Fargo has been around since the beginning of PQ. He's been known to camp everything, including the poll.
Spyke does the PQ in Review, the PQ Mailbag, and your girlfriend.
Lee'Mon writes articles and editorials for PQ, which means he's really into finding things to complain about.
Demonwench helps with the Mailbag and helps give a fresh new perspective for how people suck.
