How many players on a server makes for the best deathmatch experience?
0 - it's the only time I'll win!
over 64 - need .. more .. blood
Joost: Depends on the map of course, but usually at least 5-8 other guys.
Gestalt: For team mods I like it big, but for deathmatching anything more than 16 players is just chaos...
Bastard: At the last beatdown we had some grooviness with 5-8 people - racing to 100 frags.
Void: Quake is a sacred thing to be shared between two people. Or something.
Fargo: Quake is best played with 63 people all trying to find the 64th guy who's holding the chicken.
Do you talk to your victims while you're deathmatching?
Yes - I spend more time talking than fragging
Yes - but in moderation
No - only between games
No - why talk to them when you can kill them?
Ug gwah nargh grrrrr
Joost: Very seldomly. I keep my taunts reserved for Mario Kart, when I can see my opponent.
Gestalt: I get killed all the time because I'm talking... or at least that's my excuse.
Bastard: Everyone likes to talk the smack.
Void: Only if they're in the same room...
Fargo: I talk all the time. You can't shut me up. Quake and random chat ICQ are my two leading social outlets. (I'm kidding.) (I think.)
How long do you spend playing Quake / Quake II each day?
I don't play Quake
less than an hour
a few hours
more time than I probably should do
all my waking hours
24 hours a day - who needs sleep?
Joost: Less these days. A few hours a week?
Gestalt: If you don't play Quake, what are you all doing here?
Bastard: We're all addicts.
Void: 2-3 hours... 5 on a good day :)
Fargo: "x+10" ... No matter how much time you spend playing Quake, ten minutes more is better.
What video mode do you play Quake II in?
I don't play Quake II
Gestalt: Hardware all the way... I had to check some maps for fullbrights in software mode recently, and it hurt my eyes... But with first generation Voodoo's well under $100 now, you have no excuse.
Bastard: 3dfx won the war. A while ago.
Void: 3Dfx baby.
What did you think of the Sin demo?
Not very good
I still haven't downloaded it
Joost: Excellent. Too short.
Gestalt: Looked a bit too much like Duke 3D for my liking, but it had its moments. Deathmatch looked fun, but with a 10 *second* ping I didn't get much of a game...
Bastard: It's going to be interesting to see how much call we get for it at the beatdown. At the BOG 2 weeks ago it was getting a lot of play.
Void: I liked it, but as usual, it was back to Quake shortly after.
Fargo: You're all bitter cuz I kicked your collective asses.
Who's the biggest llama?
Who the hell writes these questions anyway?
Someone who joins the winning team in CTF
Someone who switches to the winning team in CTF
Someone who camps in deathmatch
Someone who uses the BFG all the time
Someone who keeps asking you to join their clan
Someone who keeps asking how to use the grapple
What's a llama?
Bastard: Definitely Gestalt.
Gestalt: Thanks... Actually, people who whine about me using the BFG are the people who piss me off the most at the moment... Yes, you know who you are. Eat my green balls of fire! Ahem.
Is that enough questions for you?
Gestalt: Jeezus... Some people are never satisfied. Well if you want more than that you'll have to send me some questions...
Bastard: YES YES YES. That's FINE Gestalt!
Void: I can never get enough.
Fargo: Make the pain go away.
