Joost: Depends on the map of course, but usually at least 5-8 other guys.
Gestalt: For team mods I like it big, but for deathmatching anything more than 16 players is just chaos...
Bastard: At the last beatdown we had some grooviness with 5-8 people - racing to 100 frags.
Void: Quake is a sacred thing to be shared between two people. Or something.
Fargo: Quake is best played with 63 people all trying to find the 64th guy who's holding the chicken.

Do you talk to your victims while you're deathmatching?

Joost: Very seldomly. I keep my taunts reserved for Mario Kart, when I can see my opponent.
Gestalt: I get killed all the time because I'm talking... or at least that's my excuse.
Bastard: Everyone likes to talk the smack.
Void: Only if they're in the same room...
Fargo: I talk all the time. You can't shut me up. Quake and random chat ICQ are my two leading social outlets. (I'm kidding.) (I think.)

Gestalt: If you don't play Quake, what are you all doing here?
Bastard: We're all addicts.
Void: 2-3 hours... 5 on a good day :)
Fargo: "x+10" ... No matter how much time you spend playing Quake, ten minutes more is better.

Gestalt: Hardware all the way... I had to check some maps for fullbrights in software mode recently, and it hurt my eyes... But with first generation Voodoo's well under $100 now, you have no excuse.
Bastard: 3dfx won the war. A while ago.
Void: 3Dfx baby.

Joost: Excellent. Too short.
Gestalt: Looked a bit too much like Duke 3D for my liking, but it had its moments. Deathmatch looked fun, but with a 10 *second* ping I didn't get much of a game...
Bastard: It's going to be interesting to see how much call we get for it at the beatdown. At the BOG 2 weeks ago it was getting a lot of play.
Void: I liked it, but as usual, it was back to Quake shortly after.
Fargo: You're all bitter cuz I kicked your collective asses.
