PQ In Review: Here, pull my finger!
Tis the season to be jolly. And with that I'll add the 'bah humbug' for those of you not in the Christmas spirit. Speaking of festive moods, id Software has seen fit to put out a brand new Point Release version 1.31 for Quake III Arena. Both Windows and Linux versions as well. And in another fit of generosity, they've also posted up the source code for Quake 2. All this from them in just one week!! How's that for a kick in the shorts? In a PlanetQuake feature presentation (rated PG-13), Generations Arena has been put up for a preview of their release of beta .99a. Our fans of Weapons Factory Arena will rejoice at the news that WFA and 1.31 is "A-OK". And since this is the season to give, Ruin Hunters is set to have a holiday test release on Christmas Eve. The Planetquake Holiday Wallpaper Contest has closed. Thanks everyone for some outstanding entries. The winners will be announced as their work will be used here on PQ the 24th, 25th (Christmas Day), and the 26th. If you see your's in the "Pic of the Day", then you're a winner of some toasty gaming prizes. The man with no red shoe's, Sock from Simland has done up one helluva read with his year in review. If you're into levels and texturing, this is your one stop shopping store. And lastly, we've been graced with our comrades from Polycount and from ..::LvL. Wow....what a week. If you don't have your shopping finished by now....shame shame.
Switching gears back down to classic Quake, we've got some news out from Xreaper that he's released a new version of his Quake 1 bot. From his new home, BotArea51, here on PlanetQuake. Version 1.30 has some new code and an ass load of fixes as well. Check it out or the bots will 0wn5 your 45s.
Stump the Chump
j00r question is: "How many bricks did it take to finish the Indianapolis 500 raceway?"
Jube the Elf:
Um, I'm not good with racing and stuff like that. But if I had to guess I'd say 1.5 million.
IceStorm reindeer herder:
It only took 1 brick to "finish" the race track. The other bricks did not finish the job.
You too can submit a "Stump the Chump" question, just e-mail me!
IceStorm's Thought o' the Week
I want to thank Pappy-Claus for my nostromo game controller..I rule now. Well, lets just say I really like it and how I can configure it. Gaming is no longer the same now. With the holidays so close (two more days) and family and friends around. I would like everyone, just once, to stop. Get off of your computer, go look at your family, don't say anything. Just stand there and remember how blessed we really are. God bless us everyone. And God bless you. Merry Christmas to all.
