News

Let's see what we have in store for us here. This past week has been slow and steady. But also at times fast and furious. We'll begin today's lesson with the note that BoboTheSeal, has completed his work on the Engineer over at Q3 Fortress. And also over at Navy Seals Q3 they posted some pictures of their redesigned MP5 Navy weapon. It's a smashing good shot it is. And I'll say this here and now. The group over at ..::lvl have been posting up maps at a maddening rate. They've had like at least 15 maps out this week. Sheesh guys, get a life! haha But I digress. For the mappers, a new tool that allows mapping for both Q3 and RtCW called GtkRadiant has been updated. Game Admins have posted up three new server guides for Threewave, Urban Terror, and Return to CastleWolfenstein. So if you're a server admin, this is the place to go. The first Q3 single player action we saw for Q3 was from The Dark Conjunction, and with their demo is near completion it will offer us a bigger taste of this monster movie gone astray. And Orange Smoothie Productions have updated their Q3 mod to version 1.01. ButterB has a beta release ready for his new Q3 CTF level, The Vast and Furious. Impressive floating structures make this ominous level something to see, now you can help test it to make sure it plays like it looks. And also on the level side of things, Laerth threw his hat in the ring by releasing UT_SUBWAY for Urban Terror.

Coming Soon

The Dark Conjunction's demo is almost complete and will offer us a sweet as honey taste of this movie for wacko's. Hints on what will be in the demo include a new flying creature and maps...more maps! A list of what will be included in the demo is 5 new levels plus secret level, huge Sealord boss and Bat demon, two new weapons, expanded behavior for some NPCs, improved level detail in old maps, new music tracks, extension to the plot (ingame story), and more stuff like that.

Stump the Chump

Last Week's Question was: "Imagine you are in a sinking rowboat surrounded by sharks in the middle of the ocean with no one around to help you. How would you survive?"

The Answer Is:

Stop imagining.

The Winners Were:

  • Marshall "Raptore" Moore
  • Luke "Kazashi" Ashdown
  • Adam Zey
  • Trent "Cueball"
  • This Week's Question is: "If you entered a COLD and DARK room, where there was an oil heater, an oil lamp and a candle, what would you light first?"

    IceStorm:

E-mail me the correct answer and the winners names will be posted in next week's PQ in Review.

You too can submit a "Stump the Chump" question, just e-mail me!

    IceStorm's Thought o' the Week

Last week I stated that the new word to be used in place of owned was to be SCHOOLED. Well from what I've seen, this is a sad state of affairs. Not once did I see this used. Just last friday I almost had to rail one of my own team mates for using that child like baby term. Did he not know? Was he not educated? Could he not read? So instead of TK'ing his ass I instead resulted to schooling his ass. Yep, each time he said that ill-fated word, I forced him to admit he still wore a bib and then I pushed him into the void. After a few rounds of this, the lesson started to take hold. He was now becoming wise and was in turn schooling others. It brought a tear to my eye to see the red team mercilessly fragged as he made his way to the flag. Rail slugs and rockets were flying everywhere for not. He was intent on taking these little kids to school. That's right! And the best part was, every time someone uttered those imputent words that only the lamest of non Quake playing village idiots would use....he would chase them down and explain to them the proper grammar in which to use. Ah....life can be good.
