PQ In Review: Do you feel lucky punk?

News

This week we started off with the fools day for a day of fools. However, this year seemed rather unimpressive as not much happened. Well, with the exception of our news that is. Birthday wishes go out to Polycount that turned 4 this week. Also the Soul of Evil was released and seems more on the scary side of Quake for me. We've also got some big news from the team over at Generations Arena concerning monsters and multiplayer. And while we're at it, Final Teleporter is a new mod on the scene on the SP side. The crew of Navy Seals have been working on the next update to 1.0 with some nice new fixes to their mod. Pappy-R has set up his own CTF server too for those miserable people like myself. I love CTF, can't get enough of it. Yep, you know you wants it, you needs it, and ya gotsta gotsta has it. So go to Pappy's Bunker for more info. A new release of the Quake III Radio has gone up to version 1.2, adding some code compatibility updating it to the more recent Q3 code. And just when you haven't heard it for a while, the Alternate Fire team has come back with some maps they're working on. Hoorah! And in a move that surprises even me, The Dark Conjunction will be releasing it's source code to the public in the future. And lastly for this week, if you haven't done anything for the Get Weird for Wireless contest then you must be a fool or comatose. This is too easy to get some sweet hardware. I'm talking wireless! No more being yelled at by your wife/mother about all those wires all over the floor. This is just some excellent stuff. And it's easy. So get off you dead ass and hurry. The contest ends tomorrow!

Coming Soon

Well, they finally went and did it. Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. I'm talking about the release of beta 2 of Quake 3 Fortress. In fact, it was released late last evening and I was there. Over 700 people joined in on the release party which was a huge success. This version, so from from my perspective, seems much more refined and easier to play. You can download it today by using one of their file mirrors. It's big but its worth it.

Stump the Chump

Last Week's Question was:

"What do you sit on, sleep on, and brush your teeth with?"

The Answer Is:

A chair, a bed, and a toothbrush.

The Winners Were:

  • SnakeBiTE
  • Cleaner

Heh, I'm getting better. While the answer 'plastic' could be close, it wasn't the correct answer. Sorry guys and gals.

  • This Week's Question is:

What were the original ballons made of?

    IceStorm:

E-mail me the correct answer and the winners names will be posted in next week's PQ in Review.

You too can submit a "Stump the Chump" question, just e-mail me!

    IceStorm's Thought o' the Week

A few weeks ago I spoke about virus scanners. Well it seems some people just dont get it. Yes, that means that every day about 40% of my emails contain viruses. This scares the hell out of me. So do yourself a favor and download one. They're free (to a point), and they'll help save baby seals and other endangered animals. So hug a tree today and stop sending out viruses. Now back to your regularly scheduled ass whoopin'.
