PQ in Review
IceStorm recaps the week and all the goodies you may have missed! It's almost like having candy. - by IceStorm

PQ In Review: Man ain't ever ran three times.

News

This has been a week that's something like "grab the mega health and break dance". What's that mean? Dunno, just sounded good at the time. Ok, so on with what happened if you missed it. I'll start off with a new release by Quint called Qbeast that looks like something out of a horror movie. If you're a fan of maps, then grab this one. This week we also posted a new Big Fuzzy Focus all about the Bid for Power mod and it's latest and greatest release. Excellant graphics on this one if you're into arcade types. Something I'm so glad to see is the update on the GlacierBot for Quake 1. Good job to Icedagger. Kiltron over at The Mean Arena has posted some latest shots of his upcoming work. For us lazy types, a new version (ver 2.7) of Deathmatch Tournament Generator has been released with some new goodies thrown into the mix. A new PlanetQuake Mailbag has reared it's head to the public. If you want attitude, then that's your place. And surely something for the senior's of Quake gaming. CocoT has updated his site with news of a Classic Quake map pack to be released from the results of the 3D Games Mapping Comp. Not just Quake, but much more.

Coming Soon

Time to toot the ole "here we come again" horn for one of my favorite game modes. A new release of Threewave CTF, version 1.5 to be exact, is coming this week on the 16th of May. If you're a huge CTF fan like me, and just enjoy the game because it takes skill, talent, and lots of team work then you're excited too. Rookies with spam, be gone with you! With 8 new maps in this release and plans to be more fun then you can shake a stick at. You can also join them at irc.enterthegame.com #threewave for more action and pickups. See you there.

Stump the Chump

Last Week's Question was:

What is the color of "water"?

The Answer Is:

Colorless or clear

The Winners Were:

  • Jeff Fowler
  • Krash
  • Mystery8 (I'll get you next time)
  • Jonathon (AKA Unph@zed)
  • Dan Hobbs
  • Mercury (R - 0, G - 0, B - 0, A - 1=the programmer's formula for completely transparent water)
  • Seranfall

    Excellent

    This Week's Question is:

What is another name for "Nut Meal"?

    IceStorm:

E-mail me the correct answer and the winners names will be posted in next week's PQ in Review.

You too can submit a "Stump the Chump" question, just e-mail me!

    IceStorm's Thought o' the Week

I've had a really good week this past week with my new addition of a motorcycle (no, not a crotch rocket). So with that in my life I've had to look at things differently. With summer quickly approaching I'm going to have to schedule my riding time with my fragging time. So I think I'll ride at day, and frag by candle light. Just like Einstein did (or was it Plato?). Either way, I'm sure that my new found freedom will make me shine the light onto many of the rookies. And with the upcoming 1.5 release of Threewave, I'm sure to school many more. I just can't wait to educate my compatriots here at PlanetQuake. Let the lesson's begin!
