PQ in Review
IceStorm recaps the week and all the goodies you may have missed! It's almost like having candy. - by IceStorm

PQ In Review: Pappy, oh Pappy. Where for art thou Pappy?

News

New models a plenty on the latest update from True Combat. Nice ones of the new M4A1 and some skins too. And of course we have the ever and always lovely Jube with her QuakeScopes and about looking good, Generations Arena has some new eye candy up as well. News to many is the possibility of the The CPL doing some Quake 3 gaming. There's some news about it at The Adrenaline Vault. If you're into paintball and Quake 3, then you're in luck. Over at Q Ball there's some update on the mod progress, new screenies, and some info on beta testing. This time partner the PlanetQuake Mod of the Week is a groovin time with the cowboys from Western Quake3. And the normal end user review (different people reviewing each map) listings were updated over at the ..::lvl map summaries. Speaking of maps, over at LordSquart he has up a new upcoming that will make you beg for more. And also a beta map called Dirty Little Secret from ButterB. Oh yeah, no news is complete without the updates from my favorite Q2 mod, DDay:Normandy, with news about a new server side patch available for some fixes. Oh yeah, I'm going to burn this into your brains. That or beat it out of them. Many of us PQ staffers will be at the QuakeCon. Want news about the stuff we got to play with? Oh yeah, goodies. We all love them. Then READ THIS or may your eye's bleed salt for a week! The Ice Terminal has updated the Map Database with some top notch levels and also tells plans for future progression. And as for database's, there's also news over at The Mod Database as well. Our friends and family from RetroQuake have updated their site for some retro Quake love. And lastly, what week is ever finished without pure attitude from our PlanetQuake Mailbag? Join madman and Dire Hampster for their own brand of punishment. Ain't this just fun?

Coming Soon

Word has it that there's speculation about an upcoming, close to being released, beta version of a game that might come out soon. Or something like that. And like that I mean the news about Afterwards and the news of their impending release of beta2. Overall they're really close to finished (not sure exactly how close). But if you head over to their site you'll get a close up look at some of their fine creation prior to it coming out to the world. Nice photo's if I do say so myself. So head over and get ready for Afterwards.

Stump the Chump

Last Week's Question was:

How far can a person walk into into the forest?

The Answer Is:

"Halfway"

The Winners Were:

  • TomServo1
  • F4nt0m(that hacker!)
  • [1001]Mist
  • {42}Ix
  • Daspaz
  • Irby
  • Jens
  • TargetPractice
  • ConfusedUS(I know, I know)
  • Jürgen Hoffmann
  • Adrian Larose
  • Justin
  • (Dude, get a nickname. hehe)
  • Dan Hobbs
  • Jens
That was just plain sad of me to give such an easy question. I'm going to have to work on it now.

This Week's Question is:
A boat has a rope ladder on the side of it. The rungs are 1 foot apart each. There are 6 rungs. The tide rises three feet. How many rungs are above water?(This weeks question courtesy of [1001]Mist)

IceStorm:

E-mail me the correct answer and the winners names will be posted in next week's PQ in Review. If you're smart enough!

You too can submit a "Stump the Chump" question, just e-mail me!

IceStorm's Tip o' the Week

With the summer months waining, and the sun leaning on you every moment you're outside. You should take a moment to realize whats going on OUTSIDE of the computer world. Just take your nappy ass and get them hush puppies on. Take one walk around the block, by yourself. Look at each house, listen to the dog's. Then when you're finished with your walk, come back inside and turn on the computer. Then load up some Quake III and commence to kicking some ass. See how fun nature is?
