PQ In Review: My Fuzzy is Bigger then your Fuzzy!

News

This has been a pretty busy week from the looks of everything. If you've been watching then you noticed it too. But if you didn't, then you're at the right place. Shall we? First off I gotta mention the absolutely terrific job that Jube is doing on the QuakeScopes. The desktop readings are sweet as pie. Over at Threewave, Casey has updated the site with a new 1.6 full installer. This weeks Level of the Week is one of the best DM maps around. I'm not gonna tell ya which one it is, you have to see for yourself. F4nt0m45 has been busy over with Q3 Battle Bots. And also from PQ staff, a_madman has done up a sweet interview with Jim Hughes who happens to be the lead level designer for Quake 4 at Raven. The first public beta was released of Q Ball this week. Make sure you duck. And also Unlagged 2.0 has been released with some nice updates and fixes. And back from the past is an update from Art of War site with the release of version 0.8 beta of their Brainworks mod for Q3. If you're in the mood for some screenshots, then check some out over at CrossFire. They're ingame to boot. And what week isn't complete without the psychotic ramblings in the PlanetQuake Mailbag? Anyone else think that Dire_Hamster is kinda ooky? :)

Coming Soon

Ok, I'm going to "borrow" the news from Jube about the just release of Afterwards beta 2. In Afterwards you will find yourself in a desolate world that evolved after the Starfire-Effect hit planet Earth, eradicating almost everything. Think you can survive in the Afterwards? Beta 2 highlights include 18 detailed weapons, 11 maps, 8 player models, DM and TDM game play, bots, and more. The Afterwards site has a lot more information including the servers!

Stump the Chump

Last Week's Question was:

What comes at night but at day are lost but not stolen?

The Answer Is:

"Stars"

The Winners Were:

  • ConfusedUs
  • Jens Rösner
  • (Thanks for the input last week)
  • Digitalis
  • Zaradis
  • (From Dragonball Quake)
  • Trimble
Yeah I know, that was pretty weak. I'm a bad man.

This Week's Question is:
Every creature in the world has seen it. But to their dying day they'll never see the same one again. What is it?
(Thanks to Digitalis for this weeks question)

IceStorm:

E-mail IceStorm the correct answer and your name will be posted in next week's PQ in Review. If you're smart enough!

You too can submit a "Stump the Chump" question, just e-mail me!

IceStorm's Tip o' the Week

Thanks to everyone that wrote to me about last weeks "Tip o' the Week". It was more of a musing actually, but your input was gracious. Yes Jens, I did think that all up myself. haha Most people said (in their email) that some people can't open up to their parents because of the reaction they get from them. Yes, I can understand that. But that is still no answer or reason for giving up. Continue on, life's rough. If it was easy then what would be the point of it all? Its supposed to be hard. Just like learning to increase your rail aim. It takes a lot of effort, practice, and patience. If you lose those, then it's game over. Aim true and steady. So this weeks Tip o' the Week is: Do not ask your mother if she's coloring her hair gray! Bad move, just ask your father. But it is ok to tease your sister and her friends.
