Well, it's official, I guess. If you'll look at the handy index, you'll see that we've amassed a year's worth of PQ in Review. When I started this, I had no idea that it'd go so long, or that people would like it. I think.. do people like it? I never hear from any of you. Anyways, happy anniversary to me, and enjoy the reviewage!
You all love the (noun) of the Week, so I'm going to do the right thing and feature them first! We've got your Levels of the Week, your Model of the Week, Angela, and your Mod of the Week, RTS Quake! Whew! We had our Big Fuzzy Focus this week on the Alliance Games team; we've got an interview with some of the team members, checking out exactly what's going on with Alliance, and a veritable poopload of pictures to go along with it! Yours truly interviewed Mr. Pants, creator of Excessive Overkill for Q3A and UT; I got to see the real Mr. Pants, and ask him the questions that everyone else simply doesn't think of asking. Just like a horse is a horse, we had the PQ Poll, of course! As judged below, everyone loves the PQ Poll! You'd better, if you know what's good for you! Courtesy of guest contributors Niptlar and Yoshokun, we had our editorial of the week, More of What's Wrong With 1.25, going into specific freaking detail on exactly what's changed for the worse with the latest Q3A point release. Mynx hath returned! Yes, that's correct, everyone's favorite mommy/advice columnist is back, and answering your questions about holes, shaving, and Oedipus complexes in the very latest Dear Mynx! We brought the Americentricity with the first of the Political Arena Debates, wherein Bush, Gore, Lieberman and Cheney kill each other. I'm just going to stay out of that one. :) Lee'Mon brought the PQ Mailbag hence, answering all that reader mail that just flocks in like the Capistrano swallows. TechTips this week featured a guest article on how to check your net connection using traceroute. And that's it! Whee!
Coming up in the next week are the next chapter of Generations (Honest! You can't force creative genius, people..), the debut of the new Rants and Raves feature, and a couple more extra things we have up our sleeves. Of course, you'll be seeing everything you know and love about PQ, including the Levels, Model, and Mod of the Week, the PQ Poll, Dear Mynx, the PQ Mailbag, and From the Hardcore Side! Now who do you love?
Question of the Damned
Well, I really wasn't sure whether people liked PQ in Review or not.. even my own colleagues had me in doubt. So I asked them: "What's your favorite PQ feature, and why?"
I like the Poll since it's a way of interacting with the readers. Watch out for the new Rants and Raves feature to take that interactivity to a new level though.
The poll, because I get to attempt to be witty and clever.
Definitely not PQ in Review. I cannot stand PQ in Review. It is the toenail dirt on the pristine big toe that is PlanetQuake.
My favorite PQ features are definately the random humor pieces that are posted. The comical contests and witty banter have always been my favorite part of PQ. Just to name a few, the "Take a picture of yourself in the buff with the Q3 box covering your 'parts'" contest was a riot, and the recent top ten list was pretty damn phat too.
I can't believe none of you said PQ in Review. I'm going to go home and cry now.. Oh, wait. I am at home, and I'm already crying. Dammit!
Remember, if you want to submit a Question of the Damned, just e-mail me!
Spyke's Profound Thought
You know, I really can't believe I've been writing PQ in Review for a year now. This thing is my baby; I've done every single one, except two. I've been going back and reading my old work, marvelling at how my writing skills suck, and checking out all the cool stuff that's gone on in the community for the past year. So how's about we say the next year will be even better? Damn straight, I thought so.
