PQ in Review
Spyke recaps last week and all the things you may have missed!
- by Spyke

PQ In Review: Insert Funny Thing Here

Hello all, hello all. Your resident Great Wizard here (not to be confused with a Grand Wizard, I'm not like that), ready to bring y'all up to date on everything that's gone on at the epicenter of everything Quake, the venerable, 15-time world champion, PlanetQuake! Are you ready? I knew you were. You're always ready! Let's go!

News

Goodness me, were there models galore this week? I do believe there were. Paul Steed must be in heaven.. Who says you can't combine business with pleasure? Kind of a double entendre there. Anyways, we brought you model packs every weekday! First there was the Star Wars pack, then the Action pack, then Sci-Fi pack, and the Monsters pack, and finally the Anime pack on Friday. Wow, that's a spicy meatball! Hellchick took a crack at the infamous Poll this week, asking you informative, market research-gathering guinea pi.. um.. readers important questions about Q3A and people who can't do their own math homework. Getting away from models, we had a sharpshooter of a Mod of the Week, Sniper Q2, where people with dirty mouse balls get really frustrated. As always, we were treated to some spectacular Levels of the Week for Quake 1 and 2! Our favorite pregnant advice columnist, Mynx, made her triumphant return, talking about feet, Paul Steed, and what shamblers really are. Your illustrious host with the most, Big Daddy Spyke (that's me) treated you to another spectacular edition of the PQ Mailbag this week, talking more about sporks, Purism, and many Failed Pics of the Day! And, of course, last but never least, your favorite mistress (and mine) Hellchick told us about Mods She'd Like to See. Kill Michael Bolton, and kill him now!

Coming Soon

Of course, coming next week, we'll have your usual fixings that you've come to expect from PQ, including the Mod of the Week, Model of the Week, Levels of the Week (for Quake 1 and 2!), Poll, Mailbag, and PQ In Review (wink wink)! But, lucky for you people, we've got some special stuff coming up. We've got the return of Tech Tips, letting all you l33t h4x0r people know exactly how to squeak out the extra performance from your system. We've got the relaunch of Q2PMP, those freaky model people, as Polycount! And, last but not least, we've got 3 fan-slap-in-the=gut-tastic articles on the Frag 3, camping, and diversity in gaming! Wow! Now remember, if you finish all that, only then can you have dessert..

Question of the Damned

A spectacular question comes from the hands of Hellchick this week, for herself, I, and the newest of the damned, PQ news pimp Pappy-R to answer: "If you could be any weapon in Quake 1, 2 or 3, what would it be, and why?"

Hellchick:

Okay, I'd be the Q3A plasma gun. Why? Because it's loud, purple, bright, annoying, and it makes really cool sound effects when used at high speeds. Much like me.

Pappy-R:

I'd be the Rail........It's quick, to the point and I get a smoke break during reloads. Oh yeah and make that the Q3 rail cause of all the kool colours. Wow man, purdy trails...

Spyke:

I'd either be the rocket launcher or the super shotgun. The rocket launcher because I'm fast, explosive, and to the point. The super shotgun because I've got a big barrel and a hard shot. And euphemisms, lots of euphemisms.

Spyke's Profound Thought

Wow, how about all those models this week? Insane, I tell you. Props to Hellchick, who's handling the job of Site Director quite well. Hopefully we'll see the grandiose plans (including that satellite everyone's been talking about) realized soon! Never, ever, under any circumstances, download the demo for Michelle Kwan Figure Skating. Forget DOOM, this game is hell on earth. Why anyone in this universe would think that game is fun is beyond me. And is it just me, or does the new Indiana Jones game look a heckuva lot like Tomb Raider? I guess this is "rip on demo" week. I can't wait for the Wheel of Time demo, however. I've been writing for two hours straight, help me. Help me via e-mail! Spork.

- Spyke
