Spyke recaps last week and all the things you may have missed! - by Spyke

PQ In Review: It's Christmas Eve!

News

Of course, it's a given that I'm going to start you off with our "of the Week" features. Here are the Levels of the Week, Model of the Week, Crusader, and the Mod of the Week, BFG10K Arena! The week was kind of un-jam-packed, as everyone's preparing for the holidays, but we still cranked out the PQ Poll, asking all about Team Arena, RA3, and LAN parties; of course there's the previous week's results, where Mynx talks about boobies a lot. Speaking of Mynx, Dear Mynx had a guest host this week, as Tycho of Penny Arcade took over, giving us Dear Tycho! The man himself answered all your questions about girls not liking you, singular testicles, and lesbians! You really can't beat that, folks. Love2Play busted out with the TechTips Mailbag, answering all the tech questions that I'm too stupid to wrap my head around. Finally, we announced the winners for our Christmas Contest 2000, which netted a great model, and two spectacular levels.

Coming Soon

We're all gearing up for the holidays, so you'll see all the usual features in the next week, plus a new From the Hardcore Side, a couple of interviews, and the big long lists of all the loot we snagged for Christmas.

Question of the Damned

We're nearing the end of the year, and as such, it's every person's duty to exclaim loud and clear their thoughts for Game of the Year. Our QotD today: "Other than Q3A/Q3TA, what's your pick for Game of the Year?"

Pappy R:

It was a toss up for me with MDK2 and Rune, but Rune pulled it out due to having Multiplayer and adding life to the title. What can I say, any game where you can beat a baddie with his buddies head or arm is my kinda game.

Hellchick:

There's so many good ones this year, and while I haven't played Deus Ex that much, I'd have to say it's got everything -- story, action, intensity. Warren Spector == kickass game designer.

Spyke:

I haven't played a whole lot of games this year, mostly demos, as I only just now got a kickass system.. but I'm going to have to say Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. Honest to goodness, it's addictive as hell, the level design is great, there's always something new to try, and the skate park editor allows for extendability. I love it!

Remember, if you want to submit a Question of the Damned, just e-mail me!

Spyke's Profound Thought

Damn straight, boys and girls, I've got the new system finally, and it's running Q3A with balls out! I also finally snagged Nocturne, and it's fantastic. But hey, it's Christmas Eve! So from me to all of you, have a Merry Christmas, and every other religious and non-religious holiday, too. Remember to have fun, but play it safe. I'll see y'all on New Year's Eve!

- Spyke
