The Games

Abuse
Abuse is two years old, but is still the pinnacle of technology in the side-scrolling action genre. It implemented many modern features like dynamic lighting and a fully user modifiable world years before more popular games did.

Golgotha
Golgotha represents a new sub category of real time strategy games. It has a beautiful 3D terrain engine, 3D audio, multiplayer action, and strangely enough, combines first person action with strategy elements.

Jedi Knight
Dark Forces was missing one small detail that could have made it bigger then Duke Nukem: multiplayer support. Jedi Knight includes the long awaited network play, not to mention light sabers and force powers, into an excellent game.

Politika
Red Storm Entertainment's first game is a turn based strategy game set in a modern Russia. It is the first major game to be programmed in Java and is breaking trail for the gaming industry.

Quake 2
Quake was the cutting edge in 3D shooters when it was released, and Quake 2 is all that Quake should have been the first time around. It is not an amazing improvement, but id software is still on top of the market.

SubSpace
Burst Entertainment has created a little known yet exciting game. Based loosely on the old arcade classic, Asteroids, Virgin has created a play by Internet only multiplayer game that is very unique and quite entertaining.

Ultima Online
This combination of the classic Ultima games and Internet gaming lets you explore the Ultima world with thousands of players at the same time. Everyone is looking at Ultima Online to see if massively multiplayer online gaming is viable.

X-Wing vs TIE Fighter
X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter brings Star Wars fans what they always wished TIE Fighter had, the chance to take to space in your favorite Star Wars fighter and defend the side you prefer against the enemy, your friends.
