TDC code released!- Saturday, May 11th, 2002 CBC

Better late than never... the TDC source code is out. Please read the documents included before using the code.

You can get the code from our download page. The editing forum is still open for any questions.

TDC code to be released soon- Thursday, April 4th, 2002 CBC

Since this project has been stopped, we have decided that the most reasonable thing to do is to release it's code. Hopefully this will help other single player projects under development.

The code should be out soon... it will be cleaned up a little before it is released.

TDC comes to an end- Wednesday, March 13th, 2002 ABC

We have some sad news for all the TDC fans out there. The development of our project has come to an end. The reason for this is that for the past few months we have been preparing another project that now has received a real commercial opportunity. This opportunity opened to us thanks to our efforts in TDC. We can't possibly undertake both projects so we're forced to end the MOD. We don't want to think that The Dark Conjunction is dead. It can stay alive as long as the community supports it through the creation of new levels. That is one of the main reasons why we have released the entities.def and entity manual. We will keep the site up and if anyone submits levels we'll support them right from this web page. If you're working on a level for TDC make sure to contact us. Also remember that we've added an editing forum and we'll assist people the best way we can.
I'd like to thank all the people that supported us while we were creating the project. Thanks for the patience, the great feedback and all the support. The fact that many people enjoyed playing the game is a great reward for us. We hope we can continue to make enjoyable games and that you'll get to play them in the future.

TDC Editing and more- Thursday, February 14th, 2002 CBC

As we promised, we now have available for download the entities.def and a entities manual that will allow people to create their own TDC maps. We have also added a new forum category to help people with any editing problems.

The other good news is that we have a lot of new mirrors for the recently released demo version of our mod. So go get the file if you still haven't! And if you are already bored of the demo why not create a map of your own? We'll be happy to support your work from this website.

TDC Demo RELEASED!- Tuesday, February 12th, 2002 ABC

The Dark Conjunction Demo 1.0 has been released! You can go grab your copy from the download section! There is a full file for those who have not downloaded previous versions and an updater file which updates old versions to the current version. You can check a cool preview from Planetquake here.

As usual, we'd like to receive feedback from you guys, so don't forget to use the forum with all your questions and comments. Old save files should work with the new version, but we recommend that players who have already played past the first levels start from the beginning because if not they'll miss a couple of features (hint hint: new weapon).

Also remember that we will soon be releasing our entities.def so people can start making their own single-player maps. The file will be accompanied with a brief manual explaining how to use the new entities and designing tips. Stay tuned for the archive.

TDC Demo tomorrow and more goodies- Monday, February 11th, 2002 CBC

Remember everybody that the big demo of TDC will be released tomorrow Tuesday 12th.

The other bit of news I wanted to share with you is that we will be releasing the entities.def we use for editing TDC shortly after we give away the demo. What is the entities.def? It is a file Radiant uses which defines entity information and specifics. With this file people will be able to create single-player maps with monsters and more. We will also be writing a small manual with explanations and details about each entity and info on how to create your own single-player maps.

We hope we can encourage the community to start creating SP material which has been lacking in the Q3 scene for a long time.

TDC Demo version for next Tuesday!- Friday, February 8th, 2002 CBC

The Demo version of The Dark Conjunction which will include 6 new levels, new monsters, new weapons and more will be released on Tuesday next week (February 12th). For a list of features check the news post below.

The demo should be available in both a full version for those who have not downloaded the beta release, and a update to beta 0.9 (or 0.91) which will be smaller.

The Dark Conjunction demo is near- Thursday, January 31st, 2002 ABC

Hi everybody! Sorry for the lack of updates. The thing is that we've been out of town for the last week, but we haven't ceased to work on the mod.

The Dark Conjunction demo is turning out very nicely and we have a lot of new stuff added to the project. The new levels are almost finished and we've given more detail to the older maps in some areas. There's a new flying monster and it's almost ready. Some old monsters and characters have some new stuff like backpedal and different behaviors. Another great feature is the addition of a secret level. I'm not going to spoil any details about this and I'm not going to give any clues of how to reach it, so when you play the demo you'll have to keep focused if you want to learn how to get access to the map.

Here's a list of the main new features the demo will have:

-5 new levels plus secret level
-Huge Sealord boss and Bat demon
-2 new weapons
-Expanded behavior for some NPCs
-Improved level detail in old maps
-New music tracks
-Extension to the plot (ingame story)
-More goodies and fixes :)

The demo should be ready soon. We can't really predict exactly when. There's still lots of small details to take in consideration, but nothing that will take too long we think. As soon as more stuff pops out we'll be posting it here at the site.

Mod para Quake 3 Made in Chile- Tuesday, January 8th, 2002 CBC

There is a new interview set up at "El Coliseo" (a Chilean gaming site) about our single player mod. The interview is in spanish, so those of you who didn't do well in your spanish classes at school might have some trouble reading it. If you cannot read the following paragraph then do not try to read the interview :)

Beta 0.91 update released- Wednesday, January 2nd, 2002 CBC

The Code update for TDC beta 0.9 is ready. The new version includes new features and fixes:

- Save/load added (only the beggining of the level)

- Improved NPCs aiming code.
- Fixed 95% bug of NPC's being confused in front of doors 
- Double Metlar jump fixed
- Q3 logo removed
- Fixed doors being opened when shot
- Medkits give different amount of health depending on the game difficulty
- Fixed bug of ank firing despite making pain animation
- Fixed rotating doors bug
- Now TDC can be run from Q3 MOD Menu (but you wont see our beautiful logo)

New code update tomorrow- Tuesday, January 1st, 2002 CBC

We should be releasing a code update for the beta 0.9 release sometime during tomorrow. The update will fix some bugs and add some new features such as saving and loading. Note that the update is code-only.

Things such as map tweaks and others will be included in the next "big beta" which will have new levels and monsters. No official date is set for the big release but it should be during January.

TDC Beta 0.9 released!- Wednesday, December 12, 2001 - ABC

Finally the wait is over. The Dark Conjunction beta 0.9 has been released! You can now download the beta from fileplanet! We want everyone to start playing the mod. Please post your comments in the forum! Make sure you read the install instructions before you get started. Enjoy the game! And don't forget to check out the Big Fuzzy Focus article by Pappy-R over at planetquake!

Besides the release we have something else to announce: We've opened a 3d art website over at polycount! ABC+CBC Artwork shows off many models Carlos and me have been working on for game purposes and others. Be warned though, the site has some spoiler pics of our next beta release (like the next beta final boss monster). Go here or access the site through the ABC+CBC 3D Art link on the left of the page.

The final goodie from TDC is from Kevin Riepl at X-Plore Studios. He has uploaded to his site the three music tracks he composed for TDC beta 0.9. The tracks are in mp3 format and are totally worth a download. Go check them out!
