Just a quick update to let you know that we're still alive -- and that we, in conjunction with Wirehead Studios, have been hard at work with Doom3 Gloom development. We're very pleased with what we've accomplished so far. :)

The dynamic servers were compromized by hackers and along with it, the user databases for the forums located on the servers were stolen. This includes the account information, including personal info and passwords from the Team Reaction forums. If you registered on our forums with a password that is used on other sites, such as a login for another game, other forums, instant messaging, or internet bank sites.. or even if your password for those is slightly similar.. PLEASE CHANGE THOSE PASSWORDS IMMEDIATELY!
While this issue was totally a shock to us, and we weren't in any way responsible for it.. we all do sincerely apologize to everyone affected by this.

It's official, and it has been a long, long time coming: Doom3 is the engine of choice for the next incarnation of Gloom.
All you need to know is in the forums. :)
John "Llurk" Zagorski - Saturday, July 10, 2004
For those of you who didn't notice on your own, the forums have been back up for some time now.
In other news, my move to Frisco is complete and The Guildhall is keeping me quite busy!
John "Llurk" Zagorski - Friday, June 25, 2004
For what it's worth, we know the forums are broken. However, I'm not quite sure how to get them fixed right now. Lifer! said he has contacted gamespy about it, but who knows.
In other news, I'm moving tomorrow to Frisco, Texas. I'm in for about a 7 hour drive with a loaded car. However, it shouldn't be too bad.
John "Llurk" Zagorski - Monday, June 21, 2004
I have access to the web page now!
So, you guys can all expect some sort of real update in the near future. We're trying to pull some stuff together as real-life issues try to pull things apart. Fear not! We'll be here to the end.
David "Carc" Wyly - Saturday, January 17, 2004
After much deliberation, Team Reaction has decided, in the best interest of the longevity and success of the next incarnation of Gloom, to move Q3Gloom over to a newer, better, and more versatile engine.
If you've liked what you've seen so far, fear not, for most -- if not all -- of the content previously featured on earlier SOTW's and AVI's -- such as models, maps, skins, and so forth -- will be converted over. In all honesty, Q3Gloom was intended to be much less than what it has become, and with the Q3 community floundering, we refuse to rush Q3Gloom out the door. We strongly feel that by switching to an engine more suited for Gloom, by spending more time to polish what we already have, and by catering to a larger, broader fanbase, that Gloom's potential will be fully realized.
All the juicy details to be announced.

With loads of personality and an ass to adore, the Breeder Animations are released for your own personal viewing enjoyment! The end result of a true team effort, Matt "Crimity" Ostgard and Adam "Smack" Ward join forces, with Crimity fabricating the model and skin, and Smack cooking-up the savory animations. Yum.
You can grab the XviD codec here if you don't have it. Enjoy!
Chris "Mank" Stanley - Saturday, September 20, 2003
We decided to go ahead and make an update about the fact that we have a -VERY EARLY- alpha build that we are actively testing the alien classes on. The new SOTW features an actual in game shot which depicts the Stinger saying hello to a Human Teleporter. =)
Chris "Mank" Stanley - Sunday, September 14, 2003
The Q3Pong release was a huge success, and I want to express the gratitude that Team Reaction holds for those who made it all possible:
[X-Cast]Oblique with her dead sexy voice, [X-Cast]Methos, [X-Cast]Phil, Pappy-R from our very own PlanetQuake, RogeR from PlanetQuake3.net, Trog from AusGamers.com, IRC EnterTheGame.COM, all of you deserve a big round of thanks for the efforts you put forth in making our release a success! You have the thanks and admiration of the entire Reaction crew. =)
And now that the Q3Pong release is out of the way, it's time to once again dive back into relative obscurity as the team continues work on Q3Gloom. Having said that, check out a video of the newly animated human teleporter that was also skinned and animated by Matt "Crimity" Ostgard. AVI is in the X-Vid codec.

While you're waiting for the release of Q3Pong Arena later tonight, head on over to PlanetQuake and check out the Fuzzy Focus piece that Pappy-R posted up about his impressions of the Mod. Included is an interview with a few members from the team, and some screenshots that Pappy apparently had waaay too much fun taking..:P

I just received word from the fine folk over at X-Cast, that they will be broadcasting Live! from our Q3Pong Arena 2.0 release party over at Irc.EnterTheGame.com, so be sure to download WinAmp before joining us in #Q3Pong on Friday night at 9:00pm EST.
Together with Pappy-R from PlanetQuake, Oblique from the X-Cast crew, myself, Lifer!, and others, we hope to provide a fun filled evening that everyone will enjoy!
So cue up your Boomsticks and make plans for a night of fun, fragging, and great music! =)

Team Reaction is proud to announce the upcoming release of Q3Pong Arena 2.0! If anyone remembers Quake2 Pong, you'll likely recall that it won the PCGamer/Id Software Mod Contest in 1998! =)
We unofficially released Beta version 1.666 of Q3Pong during QuakeCon 2001, and the Mod has been a huge LAN favorite the world over since the download was first made available. We even received word that Q3Pong was played at the 2002 World Cyber Games in Korea between matches at the competition!
After a ton of feedback from the 1.666 Beta, we made several changes in the ball physics which allowed us to assign each ball its own physical properties in terms of size, mass, and bounce characteristics. This allows the player to make use of the maps layout in setting up those carefully planned trick shots. With the addition of the grapple, several new maps, and a host of new balls and sounds, we think we've hit upon a truly fun Mod that every Quake3 fan will enjoy playing!
We'll be hosting a good old-fashioned IRC release party on both IRC.ENTERTHEGAME.COM - #Q3Pong and on our home IRC server at EDGE.EDGEIRC.NET - #Q3Pong this coming Friday night Sept. 12, at 9pm Eastern Standard Time. We'll be releasing the files simultaneously on PlanetQuake3, and Fileplanet during the party, so availability shouldnt be an issue.
We already have several servers lined up, so we'd like to invite everyone out to come join RogeR and the rest of Team Reaction in a night of Carnage and Ball Breaking fun =)
See Everyone There!

Qcon has come and gone yet again, and those members from the team who managed to go this year said it was a hella good time. We had originally planned on releasing Q3Pong 2.0 at Qcon, but a last minute bug popped up that required some additional attention, so the release has been delayed until later this week if all goes as planned. We're all excited about this release and look forward to seeing everyones hard work paying off in a mod that people will enjoy playing. I'd like to extend a warm thanks to all of those beta testers who were kind enough to work around our somewhat hectic scheduling. Well done!
Also, as part of our next installment of animation videos, we're proud to bring you the Stinger as this weeks update offering. Once again, Matt "Crimity" Ostgard shows his abilities as we present this weeks Stinger Animations. You will need the Xvid video codec to view the AVI with, and you can grab that here.
Update: I decided to sneak in a shot of Llurk' new map entitled Aegis Defense Research Facility. Weighing in at over 10 megs, the layout of this map is both huge, and gorgeous. Enjoy!
Chris "Mank" Stanley - Tuesday, August 6, 2003
Ok, you've been asking for it! So here is the first in a series of videos that we will be unveiling over the next few weeks. This first installment depicts the newly Modelled Drone Animations. You will need the Xvid video codec to view the AVI with, and you can grab that here. Enjoy!
NOTE: The FPS in game will vary depending on each stage. Currently all of the stages are being viewed at 15 fps, but will actually be between 10 and 30 fps.

Q3Pong Arena Beta: Phase 2
I've just sent out e-mail notifications to everyone who applied/participated in the first round of Testing. We've received some excellent feedback and bug reports from the first round of testing, and BinaryC is hard at work addressing those issues. I just received word from Pappy-R, the Admin here at PlanetQuake, that he will be participating in the second phase of testing. So if you havent applied to help beta test yet, dont pass up the oppurtunity to come and SPLAT! everyones favorite PQ personality!
Q3 Pong: It's what all great fraggers have for breakfast. =)
Chris "Mank" Stanley - Monday, July 28, 2003
Once again, Matt "Crimity" Ostgard, demonstrates his modelling/skinning prowess as we unveil the newly designed Drone as this weeks SOTW update.
Q3 Gloom: Fear is indeed a good thing =)

Beta Testers Needed!
In lieu of our upcoming QPong Arena update, we are looking for a few good Beta testers. If Q3 is your bag(and why wouldnt it be?), and you have some free time later this week, fire off an e-mail to this inbox if you'd like to help out. I'll be contacting those interested later in the week with download links and server information.
Information about the updates in this release can be found here

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing, with 110% more spunk -- the new and improved stinger! The brainchild of Matt 'Crimity' Ostgard, this friendly guy has dashing red eyes, likes long walks on the beach, and enjoys the occasional romantic candle-lit dinner. Oh my!
Aaron "Lifer!" Gilmore - Friday, June 13, 2003
This week we preview another shot of Sapieha. This is the first map in the Q3Gloom universe.
The Sapieha Research facility was origionally an old colony. One of the first colonies established in this sector of space. When the spider-like aliens started attacking the human colonies, the MSD established a temporary research lab here in order to find out more about the new threat. Contact has been lost, and a 'search and rescue' team is sent in to investigate. What suprises lurk in this old research facility? What did the scientists there find out that also brought their doom? Stay Tuned!
Aaron "Lifer!" Gilmore - Thursday, May 30, 2003
Crimity put a lot of hard work into this skin and it really shows! Introducing the star of the spider race, the breeder! Enjoy!!
Aaron "Lifer!" Gilmore - Thursday, May 22, 2003
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be previewing some of the models that we have for Q3Gloom, and to start off we chose the Cocoon model. Enjoy!!
Aaron "Lifer!" Gilmore - Friday, May 2, 2003
Jex dazzles us yet again with another screenshot of Gloom6, and to show off the amazing detail, we have a screenshot taken at 1600x1200! Check it out!!
Chris "Mank" Stanley - Thursday, April 17, 2003
This week we feature a shot of Sul's S'Nadosh Space Station Facility. Considered highly Classified, it's not even supposed to exist. The facility resides in a stationary orbit on the dark side of the Gloom Planet, where a hand selected crew of highly skilled scientists take part in highly secretive experiments. This level is sure to please. I'm also including a 1024x768 desktop background of this weeks SOTW, and you can get it by clicking on the link below the image on the left. Enjoy!
Chris "Mank" Stanley - Sunday, April 6, 2003
This week we offer a glimpse of an early adaptation of the Hatchling Model. But rather than spoil all of the fun, we have created a nice background image for use on your desktop. Work is progressing on schedule, and we hope to begin showing some of our concept art in the next SOTW update. Till then...Enjoy! =)
Aaron "Lifer!" Gilmore - Wednesday, April 2, 2003
Well, ok.. so many of you weren't fooled by it, but it was still a fun thing to do. I would like to thank the many people that helped out with the gag, including Godmil, ilkhan, MushroomFace, and of course R1CH for the overall idea.
