id Software confirm Doom 4 images, with a twist

More than a hundred images, purportedly from id Software’s Doom 4 leaked to the internet earlier this week. They portrayed environments from a post-apocalyptic Earth, with burning, ash-covered cities and the destruction only aliens and hellspawn are capable of.

Developer id Software says those images are not indicative of the final Doom 4 product.

Matthew Hooper, creative director at id, said as much on Twitter earlier this week.

“Those images have nothing to do with what you’re gonna see in Doom 4,” Hooper responded to a tweet. “When we officially show things you’ll see awesome.”

“Fans will be happy,” Hooper later added.
