Quake2xp


Quake2xp project has 7 year old history. Its aim has always been to improve the look
 
of the game without touching game process.


Minimum System Requirements:

  • Windows XP OS or above.
  • Single-Core CPU with SSE2 support.
  • 512 MB system RAM.
  • 128 MB Video Card with full OpenGL 2.1 support,  GF6xxx or radeon HD2xxx class. 
  • Hard Drive – 1.2 GB. 
       
  • Sound Card with software OpenAL support. 

Recommended System Requirements:

  • Windows XP OS or above.
  • Multi-Core CPU with SSE2 support.
  • 1 GB system RAM for Windows XP / 1.5 GB for Vista.
  • 512 MB Video Card (for uncompressed textures) with full OpenGL 2.1 support,  GF8xxx or radeon HD4xxx class.
  • Hard Drive – 1.2 GB.
  • Sound Card with hardware OpenAL support.

Integrated chipsets are not supported. Windows 2000 has not been tested yet.

  • Dynamic specular bumpmapping for alias models.

  • GLSL postprocessing : bloom, depth of field, radial blur, thermal vision.


  • Hi-res and NPOT textures support.
  • Anisotropy and mipmaps lod control.
  • Texture compression and DTX DDS support.
  • Texture size control.
  • Glowing and caustic surfaces.
  • Vertex lighting for non lightmapped surfaces.
  • Clipped decals.
  • Lens flares and sun.
  • MSAA and Nvidia CSAA antialiasing support.
  • 3d hud and custom hud layouts.
  • Scaled fonts support, coloured console fonts.
  • Multiformat screenshot  – tga, jpg, png, tif, pcx.
  • External entities loader.
  • Minimap.
  • Improved system information and video memory usage.
  • Custom screen resolutions.

Game features:

  • Nightmare skill like DOOM2.
  • Movable solid corpses.
  • Predator death match mod.
  • Third person view.
  • Sniper zoom.

Audio engine:

  • OpenAL 3d audio engine with EAX2 support.
