Subject : Tourrettes

Just read the mailbag and can hardly type 'cause I'm laughing so hard. You should hire the guy who wrote the "tourrettes syndrome" piece that you posted under "Freak Show".

I thought those guys that complained earlier of "anal seepage" and "involuntary urination" were a bit whacked out but now I must count myself among them. You should put a warning in the header of the mailbag something like this:

"WARNING: Persons with weak bowels and/or bladders should take precautionary measures before reading the mailbag. Failure to do so may result in damage to clothing and/or furniture."

Consider yourself warned.

P.S. How about doing the mailbag twice a week?

God no! Doing it once a week is hard enough on my sanity...

Clan Nine From Outer Space

Well, Clan Nine from Sweden actually... Congratulations to them on their 8-2 trouncing of DeathRow, supposedly America's finest. Our extensive live coverage of the event brought in a flood of e-mails...

From : Hans
Subject : SumFuka and FragBate's unearthly coverage.

My name is Hans Davidsson, and I'm the poor soul that's trying to broadcast 9vsDR event to the whole world. We had plenty of trouble getting the FAQ-proxy to work, so I took a lot of heat Wednesday. Tired and a little dissapointed (not over the results, go 9!) over all failures, I sat down to read what SumFuka and FragBate had to say about the matches.

And unbelievable as it seem, but soon I was laughing and smiling all over again. Those two is by far the most well articulated, funny, energic, competent on line gaming journalists I ever seen, read or heard about. Make sure that they hear all these words, because I think they made one fan in the cold north of Sweden.

I like sports, in real life sports, and the coverage of sports events like OS and WC came to shame yesterday. SumFuka and FragBate might be the best "on place reporters" in the world. No doubt peoples will argue about 9 vs DR and who's the best quake clan on earth, but SumFuka and FragBate certainly is undoubtly the best quake reporters.

May I ask for a signed photo of them? :)

Believe me, you really don't want a photo of these guys...

Ps! Excuse my poor english if my grammar sucks! I always slept at english class :)

And why is it that people from non-English speaking countries always apologise for their "poor english", when they usually speak it better than most Americans?

Subject : The Live covering

The live covering from the 9 vs DR match was awesome, i cant believe how so much accurate information could be written in so short time. Your covering was the only way most of us were able to follow the game cause of a REAL lack of proxies.

BIG kudos to you guys, keep this up!

Of course, not all the feedback was positive... A few of you seemed to think that the coverage was biased.

Subject : Clan9vsDeathRow

I just have one simple question, or not really a question but a comment. This may sound like nagging but bare with me!

I really like the coverage that you guys have on the clan showdown between clan nine and DeathRow. The only snag as I see it is that the coverage is not really unbiased. I thought that the main principle was to be objective.

As things are now the game analysis, more or less, only focuses on DR and keeps on talking about DR "coming up to momentum" and such. The fact that planetquake is an american site (I suppose) should not interfere with objectiveness, the site can afterall be reached from anywhere in the world!

Thanx again for a great coverage!

From : Alvin
Subject : How about less biased coverage of the US vs. Sweden event?

Stop screaming DR makes a comeback or lost badly, Clan 9 won because they were better.

As for me, I live in the UK and it was great to see a bunch of relatively unknown Europeans giving Thresh and the boys a good thrashing. Clan Nine were obviously the better clan on the day, and I think the coverage shows that. If it focused a little too much on DeathRow, that's probably because they're the ones that most of our readers would be familiar with...

We asked if you thought our coverage was over-the-top or if you wanted to see more coverage of tournaments in future. Most of you seemed to think live coverage was a good thing, but not everyone...

Subject : Professional Gaming Topic

Hail Great Ones of PlanetQuake.com ! !

And those are the magic words...

Professional Gaming, I'm sure, has its place but I'd rather it not be on the main page of Planetquake. Perhaps a link to its own news column would be a good idea. That way you could provide for interested parties and you could monitor interest in that category

Or as someone else put it -

no pro sucks

Nothing like constructive criticism...

Finally, after we made the mistake of mentioning the Swedish Chef in our coverage of the event, we got a mail from some real Swedish Chefs!

From : Hellsangel_SC
Subject : Yes, the Swedish Chef is playing quake!

There is a clan called Swedish Chefs in sweden, and we are 6 swedish chefs playing quake. :-)
