Will you be buying the Q3 Mission Pack? (submitted by Crass)

Answer Votes
Yes - I buy everything Quake related. Wanna see my Shambler Pez dispenser?
Yes - I don't usually buy Mission Packs, but because it's from id, I'll pick it up.
No - I'll w4r3z it with Notepad!! Of course, if I like it, I'll do the honorable thing and buy it.
No - Q3A wasn't interesting enough for me to buy the mission pack.
Would someone please explain why there would be a mission pack for a multiplayer only game?

Fragmaster: Probably not, but I did buy some Goldfish crackers at the supermarket on Sunday.
Pikachu: pika.
/me reaches for wallet.
Lee'Mon: I probably will anyways, but I'd prefer it had some awesome mods in it... like a Single Player mod, which would truly make it a mission pack. But we don't know if anything like that is in there. [eyes Hellchick] DO WE?!?
Tetsuo: I'll get my mom to buy it for me - better that w4r3z!
Hellchick: [silence.]
shaithis: Word on the street is that the mission pack is actually Doom 2000, an entirely new game that id have had finished since 1997, and just haven't bothered to release. Or it could be a bunch of levels. I'm not real sure.

Spyke: Considering my prominence in the gaming media industry, I'd better be getting it for free. I don't want to have to pawn my pacemaker again.

Do you turn stuff off in Q3A to make the game run better?

Answer Votes
The gibs. I know I hit them...I don't need to be drowned in blood to tell.
The items. Sprites are the best!
The HUD. Who needs to know how much health they have?
I turn off everything I can possibly turn off for more fps!
I turn nothing off - my computer is a gaming sex machine that eats yours for breakfast.

Fragmaster: Not really. Too lazy.
Pappy-R: It's a delicate balance of features and FPS Grasshopper. Be the game.
Lee'Mon: I turned off my screen for better FPS. It worked, but everything's so damn dark...
Pikachu: pika! pika! pika!
Everything but SimpleItems. I need to see that weaponry spinning to inspire me.
Hellchick: I turn nothing off. In fact, I went in and haX0r3d the game and ADDED a bunch of useless stuff! How did Pikachu get into the poll, anyway?
shaithis: I don't turn anything off anymore, since I just upgraded to a pretty phat system. Previously, I turned everything down to minimal. I still force models though, because that little click is just so goddamned annoying.

Spyke: (sniff)... um.. I'm poor... I mean l33t! I turn on simple items, and crank down the texture detail, and turn off high quality sky.

Do you still play the original Quake? (submitted by Ads)

Answer Votes
Yes, it's the ONLY one I play! The rest are just cheap sequels looking to cash in on the original!
Yes, but I also play Quake 2 and/or Q3A occasionally. I'm not THAT old school.
I only play it occasionally. For the nostalgia.
Hell, no! Why would I subject myself to such throwback technology?

Fragmaster: Sometimes. The 90's were pretty cool.
Pikachu: Pika! peeeeeeee!
Pappy-R: Only to test new stuff like maps and new GL goodies.
Lee'Mon: Only to layeth the smacketh down, and for Generations Arena research.
Tetsuo: On Monday I loaded it up and played the first 3 levels. I remember when Quake came out - at 1280x1024 I'd get like 2 frames per socond. Now it's really smooth and playable at that resolution! Go try it now!
Hellchick: Is Pikachu housebroken? Because I'm not cleaning up his mess.
shaithis: I would play it far more often if there was still a Team Fortress scene, but since now all that's left is a bunch of thirteen year olds playing Mega-TF (ugh) on hacked clients, it's sort of pointless.

Spyke: Nope. In the interests of continuity, I only play new games! Everything else gets thrown out! Nuts to you, autographed copy of Doom!

Quake 1 is to Ranger as Quake 2 is to Grunt as Quake 3 is to: (submitted by Painberry)

Answer Votes
Sarge - He's in the intro, after all!
Visor - Been With Quake 3 since the TEST!
Klesk - id's Page p1mps this d00d, so he's the official id SpokesChitnid
Orb - He's cute. Mascots should be cute. Like Grunt. Er, hang on...
Patriot - It's all in the bandanna.
Mynx - She's been around PQ for so long, she should be the Q3A icon, too!

Fragmaster: It sure as hell isn't ToastFace (Visor).
Pappy-R: For me it's Visor. He's the newest standard character for the realm of the "Arenas Eternal". That, and he's got a face only a welder could love.
Lee'Mon: Sarge may be the star of the intro and the default model, but Visor will always be Mr. Arena to me. Hell, I even converted the old Q3Test skins to Q3A, which may be the first recorded instance of a form of Q3A being "old school."
Pikachu: pika?
Um - are we running low on questions? =)
Hellchick: It's Sarge, hands down, 'nuff said. If he could have groupies, I'd be first in line. And yes, we're running low on questions!
shaithis: Despite the fact that Sarge is actually pretty low on the ladder, he got the intro... Why? Because he's a Space Marine, dammit, and that makes him heir to the Doom and Quake guys.

Spyke: Orbb, baby! I'm sick of these freakin' space marines. We need a big walking eyeball as a hero!

Which classic popular mod did/do you enjoy play the most for Quake1/Quake2? (submitted by Francis Blake)

Answer Votes
TeamFortress - still the classic among classics!
Action Quake2 - John Woo. 'Nuff said.
Weapons Factory - more weapons than you have.
Painkeep for Quake 1 - bring on the old school!
I haven't played any of these for reasons too numerous to list here.
One that's not listed here. Damn you! DAMN YOU ALL, PQ!!

Fragmaster: QPong is the bizbomb.
Pikachu: pika pi.
CTF. Yeah CTF was and IS a Mod. It's just so damn cool it's a standard now.
Lee'Mon: Blast Chamber, Generations, Wyrm, Devastation... NONE listed! Who wrote this list?!? A Boot To The Head(tm) shall be theirs!
Tetsuo: Quake1. uh - that mission pack with the big hammer - that rocked. HIPEND!!
Hellchick: Hmm, looks like we've been damned. Well, shoot. That puts a damper on my afterlife plans.
shaithis: Team Fortress was the best mod ever made. No, no, don't try to argue. I'm right, and I wrote a huge article on it to prove that I'm right. :)

Spyke: Catch the Chicken. 'Nuff said.

Where does Mynx get those questions about her panties from? (submitted by SF-deNali)

Answer Votes
They're all from sickos with an underwear fetish.
They're all from a small handful of weirdos who aren't representative of the PQ readership.
Actually, they're all from John Romero.
I don't know, but hey, if she's got extras, pass them my way. The questions, I mean. Not the underwear.
Okay, I really mean the underwear.

Fragmaster: They're imported from the land of Magic Toads.
Pappy-R: Spyke?
Lee'Mon: Definately Spyke.
Pikachu: pika? PIKA!!!!!!!!!!!
panties... heh-heh... you said panties...
Hellchick: you didn't think I could come up with that many underwear questions for Mynx, did you? Oh, er, wait...damn.
shaithis: Am I the only person who sees the inherent uh... F*CKING DISGUSTINGNESS in requesting a pair of used panties from someone? You people scare me. Or I guess, according to popular vote, John Romero scares me. But he did that anyway.

Spyke: Um... (nervously) not me... that's.. uh.. damn gross guys, you're sick! Heh... (looks around)

Who are these people anyway?

Hellchick is the PQ Site Director, or at least has convinced her friends that she is.
Pappy-R is PQ's News Jockey and Part-time Table Dancer.
Spyke does the PQ in Review, the PQ Mailbag, and your girlfriend.
Lee'Mon writes articles and editorials for PQ, which means he's really into finding things to complain about.
shaithis is a former PQ Site Director who now spends his days running and sharpening the spikes on the top of his cubicle. You think we're kidding.
Fragmaster also used to run PQ, and now manages and the console section of the GameSpy network. He also enjoys the occasional potted tuna.
Tetsuo performs miracles that mere mortals cannot understand as part of the tech team at GameSpy. He also really likes bacon. Even more than Hellchick.
Fargo has been around since the beginning of PQ. He's been known to camp everything, including the poll.
