How many hours do you spend browsing PlanetQuake a day? [Submitted by AftrDrk]

Answer Votes
Percentage
30 minutes; just enough to read the day's news and features.

65.5%
1-2 hours; I need my early morning fill of the HellchickCam.
138
12%
3-4 hours; I really enjoy looking for spelling mistakes and dead links, and bugging the PQ staff about them.

None; I just come here looking for goat pr0n.

Pappy-R: Browsing isn't the word, but I spend about 14 hours in PQ each day.
shaithis: I swing by daily, and if something catches me eye, I'll spend whatever time it takes to read/download/whatever.
Ash: Like Pappy, I have a browser trained on PQ for virtually every waking hour.
Fargo: I do a drive-by.
Spyke: 2-3 hours, as I'm stuck looking at it while I work. And I'm not whistling.
Hellchick: What?! Man, since I'm not Site Director anymore, no one watches the Hellchick Cam-O-Rama.
Lee'Mon: My computer reads PQ for me and tells me what's up as I shower, eat, or ... well, whatever.
L33t'M0n: Looks like it's time I hooked up the L33t'M0n Evil Cam-O-Rama.

What do you do to make your computer fun faster? [Submitted by omega_drh]

Answer Votes
Percentage
I've heard that it runs faster if you put it upside down, so that's what I do.
37
3.2%
I put it in my freezer so it stays cooler and runs faster.
46
3.9%
Nothing, I've accepted that my computer is the slowest piece of metal on the planet.
288

TWEAK!

I'm rich, so I just upgrade if I feel my performance is lacking.

Pappy-R: New toys, new toys, new toys! I'm just a big kid when it comes to PC treats.
shaithis: Heh... I just get GameSpy to upgrade my system. ;)
Ash: I pray to the Gods of the Eternal Arena that GeForce 2's and Thunderbirds will fall from the sky, and onto the pillow that I've strategically placed in my backyard for just such an occasion.
Fargo: I really don't need more than a couple frames per second. I'm a casual player. All these new-fangled "28.8 modems" and "15-inch monitors" are just overpowered toys for die-hards with nothing better to do. I may upgrade my system if Doom II comes out.
Spyke: I do lots of work so I can earn money. Or you can send me money.. just e-mail me for my address.
Hellchick: I go buy new parts. As I type this, Sludge_666 is busy hammering a new Pentium chip into the most incredible home-built system we've ever made.
Lee'Mon: I chase it with a cattle prod.
L33t'M0n: I chase Lee'Mon with a cattle prod until he buys me a new PC.

Which id member is most responsible for the success of Q3A? [Submitted by Kell McDonald]

Answer Votes
Percentage
John Carmack. He's the smartest man in the freaking universe!
733
64.7%
Graeme Devine. It's all about the Englishman.

6.8%
Tim Willits. You've never heard of the supreme "Tim-a-riffic" level rating?
51
4.5%
Paul Steed. He li3ks b00bi3s!
271
23.9%

Pappy-R: Ms. Donna, the id mom, is the heart of the beast.
shaithis: The original Doom marine is responsible for the success of Q3A, if you think about it.
Ash: Carmack's engine was probably the biggest part of Q3A. I think DOOM will be more content driven though.
Fargo:
The Sarge was wholly responsible.
Spyke: Hey, Pappy didn't close an italic tag.
Hellchick: The janitor who cleans their offices and went in at night fixing all their mistakes. DAMN! That was NDA material.
Lee'Mon: Me. The truth is out, it was all me. I am secret to id's success.
L33t'M0n: John Romero. Why? Did you see Daikatana? That could have happened to Quake3.

What's your style of CTF play? [Submitted by Tarkus]

Answer Votes
Percentage
Defend the base.
332
29.1%
Hang out in the middle shooting everything that moves.
161
14.1%
Go for the solo frag capture, usually getting fragged.
262
23%
Try to go for the capture with an assault team.
142
12.4%
Shoot everything that moves and wonder why you can't frag your teammates.
241
21.1%

Pappy-R: Grab the flag and hide from everyone...including my own team.
shaithis: I don't play CTF. I play Fortress. And when I play fortress, I'm either an offensive scout (recon), an offensive piper (grenadier), or a defensive engineer.
Ash: I defend the base, I seem to get gang raped everytime I leave the base.
Fargo: I like playing Dee. [Pause.] Okay, I like camping.
Spyke: Get killed.
Hellchick: Repeatedly go offense when my team needs defense, and defense when my team needs offense. It's made me famous.
Lee'Mon: Three hundred of you aren't really being honest with yourselves...
L33t'M0n: Bitch, whine, and moan about llamas, bots, and lag. You won't help your team, but you'll look smarter.

Who are these people anyway?

Pappy-R is PQ's Site Director & News Jockey.
Spyke is the PQ Content Manager, does the PQ in Review, and your girlfriend.
Lee'Mon writes articles and editorials for PQ, which means he's really into finding things to complain about.
Ash is the Auxilary News Jockey. He needs a better description.

Hellchick is GameSpy's Action Genre Producer, or at least has convinced her friends that she is.
shaithis is a former PQ Site Director who now spends his days running GameSpy.com and sharpening the spikes on the top of his cubicle. You think we're kidding.
Fragmaster also used to run PQ, and now manages ClassicGaming.com and the console section of the GameSpy network. He also enjoys the occasional potted tuna.
Mynx is our resident advice expert, knowledgeable about all sorts of topics that the rest of us are just too scared to touch.
Tetsuo performs miracles that mere mortals cannot understand as part of the tech team at GameSpy. He also really likes bacon. Even more than Hellchick.
Fargo has been around since the beginning of PQ. He's been known to camp everything, including the poll.
