This is where I, that means me, recap the week and all the good stuff you may have missed! - by IceStorm

PQ In Review: The Beginning of the End

News

QuakeScopes, the name just says it all doesn't it? But you want to know what says more? On the 8th, Pappy-R celebrated his 4th year of duty here on the fuzzy one. So drop by the PlanetQuake channel and give him a high five, or a high three if you're missing some. Tiki_man was able to push out another PlanetQuake Level of the Week the other day. Just on Friday we saw the release of version 2.0 of Qpong. If you missed the IRC party, then get the new version and pong away. Something we haven't heard from lately, but a bunch of end users pumped out some more Q3 level reviews and they're posted over at lvl. And lately we've been getting some news out of those troops over at Polycount with a few news bites this week. And a new version of Pwrweapons mod hit the public as version #8 with a bunch, and I mean an ass load, of changes and additions. Check it.

Coming Soon

On September the 19th the Quake community gets a double blasts from some real team players. First off we'll see the release of FuhQuake v0.30 with a bunch of updated and features. This new update will surely be of a big help. And so far Fuh has put out the frontend for launching the proggie. Sweet huh. But there's more to be had on the 19th. Not just this update but on the same weekend, twisted will be releasing TFDE2, the sequel to the best team fortress movie ever made.

Stump the Chump

Last Week's Question was:

If the next QuakeCon were held and every computer in the BYOC was facing south, where would the next QuakeCon be held at?

The Answer Is:

"The north pole."

The Winners Were:

  • Daspaz
  • ir_mudd
  • Guspaz (Eh..we all make mistakes.)
  • [Phafanapolis]
  • Spludge (Wow, that was a detailed answer)
  • psychopheles
  • Panzer (How good are the heatsinks in hell?)
  • PainQuin
  • [AfZ]TomServo1
  • irby
Ok, lets try something new shall we?

This Weeks Question Is:

If you were running a race, and you passed the person in 2nd place, what place would you be in?

IceStorm:

E-mail IceStorm the correct answer and your name will be posted in next week's PQ in Review. If you're smart enough!

You too can submit a "Stump the Chump" question, just e-mail me!

IceStorm's Tip o' the Week

Well so far I found that my new car isn't so nice on gas. Meaning it likes it...a lot! So I have to curtail my driving habits somewhat. By not stomping on the gas pedal or driving it to fast. Just be nice and drive normal. I've also found out that a lot of people like to drive faster than normal when they're by me. I guess it's because of the car because they never did that when I was driving the other car I've got. Ah well, their loss. Here in the US the football season has started. That means winter is soon on the way. And summer for those down in Australia. So I guess this big ball of dirt we call earth is ready for another season change. It'll still be nice and warm here in Texas for months to come so I've got nothing to worry about. Not yet at least. P.S. Watch out for those women out there, some of them are really sneaky!
