PQ in Review
Spyke recaps last week and all the things you may have missed! - by Spyke

PQ In Review: h4x0r4g3 pw33ns

When constructing PQ in Review every week, I inevitably have placeholder text for each paragraph. This just serves to remind me what to put there. However, this opening paragraph always recieves something a little more special than the rest. For example, this week, it contained the riveting text: "Blah blah blather blather whoot whoot whoot". That just goes to show how insane I really am. Send me money. Here's PQ in Review!

News

It seems to be that there's always a big poop-disturber every week. Well, this week was no exception. Ash busted out with one of the damn-diggitiest editorials I've ever seen, with metaphorical usage rivaling my own, in "Q3A Is A Wonka Bar". You may think he's nuts, but trust me people, it makes sense. This week again we were treated to an attention-starved PQ Poll, including questions on the Q3A mission pack, bots, and Carmack's undergarments (no, I'm not kidding). As always, results are provided from the previous week, accompanied by humorous commentary from the GSI/PQ gang. This week also marked the second installment of The Gauntlet. This week, Lee'Mon and yours truly enter into a heated debate; we discuss HPBs vs. LPBs! You can also vote in our instapoll at the end, in which I am losing, but at least by a narrower margin than last week. Mynx made her triumphant return with a brand-new Dear Mynx, where she gives her motherly advice on such things as bot lustage, mirror wankage, and a special picture of a very special game developer! Yours truly delivered another edition of the PQ Mailbag this week, printing responses on Ash's Wonka Bar editorial, answering questions and commenting on comments, and giving the h4x0rs a place of their own. Don't ask questions, just read it! As well as the regular old PQ Mailbag, this week saw its sister publication, the TechMailbag make another appearance. Watch as Love2Play answers the questions that I'm too dumb to answer!

Now for this week's site launches! Ahusan Maps has swank looking maps for all three Quakes! Velocity is a speedy mod for Q2/3A! Warbird Productions has some sweet little mods, including Escalation for Q3A. SHUD is a HUD mod for Q3A.

Coming Soon

Coming soon here on the Big Fuzzy, we have a plea from a reader to save Quake 1. Hellchick's thinking about asking people to skin her, cause she needs some new clothes. We've got a new "From the Hardcore Side" from news pimp Pappy, who's at the CPL qualifiers in Toronto today. A couple interviews coming up, including one with TD2K! Add to that the Poll, Mailbag, Mynx, The Gauntlet, and you're taking out the steam tray at the PQ buffet!

Question of the Damned

Well, since Pappy's out covering the CPL thing in Toronto, and Lee'Mon's still stuck in God-Knows-Where, Nebraska, I guess it's just Hellchick and I this week. Hey, now's my chance to ask Hellchick if she really likes me!

[snip humiliating reply]

*Sniff* Okay then.. I guess I'll just ask the nice, simple question: "What's your favorite mod?"

Hellchick:

Favorite mod of all time? Action Quake 2. I'm really looking forward to a Q3A version of that. I'm hoping that since I did a voice for Action Quake 2, doing the female pain sounds for Action Half Life, I can also do some voices for Action Q3. C'mon guys, whaddaya say? ;)

Spyke:

Catch The Chicken!

Oh looky here, Pappy showed up! What's your favorite mod, Pappy?

Pappy R:

It would have to be Quake III CTF. I'm a no-hook kinda guy.

[Editor's Note: Nevermind that since Q3CTF was included with the retail game, that it's not a mod. Pappy's a little.. less than 100% right now, if you know what I mean.]

[Pappy's Note: Then ThreeWave CTF for Quake 1. :)]

[Editor's Note: Dammit!]

Remember, if you want to submit a Question of the Damned, just e-mail me!

Spyke's Profound Thought

Why must my friends attempt to "hack" me, when we both know that they couldn't hack their way out of a pair of fishnet stockings? I guess it's a testament to limited cranial capacity. I think it's high time I asked a question in this little paragraph of mine. I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask, what's the freakiest music you've ever heard? I'm into weird music (IDM, anyone?), and I need more freaky music to frag to. Other than that, I'm too tired to be very profound this week. The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain. Booyah!
