Wowee. A ton of news this week, including a lot that stirred the poo. Also, Rocket Arena Q3A will be released today. But that'll show up in next week's review. Anyways, we've got a ton of stuff lined up for your perusal, so let's get cracking!
The poo-stirrer this week was courtesy of our fearless leader, Hellchick; her editorial "Girls' Day Out", on the issue of all-female activities within the gaming community, really shook things up. So much so, that in this week's PQ Mailbag, a giant first page was dedicated to feedback from the aforementioned editorial; the PQ Mailbag also featured its usual assortment of Leftover Gibs, and silly letters from you zany readers! Hellchick was busting out with the writeage this week, as she authored a great article on the World's Silliest Mods; it's kind of self-explanatory, and features mods for all three Quakes. A brand new contest kicked off this week, the Haiku Quake contest. The point is to come up with the coolest haiku about Quake. If you do, you could win many great prizes, like GameSpy t-shirts, or a GameSpy Arcade registration! The good old ubiquitous PQ Poll showed its face again, asking the important questions on Quake ESP, Q2 action figures, and why the GameSpy Arcade challenges are fun! Of course, the GSI/PQ crew adds their commentary on the past week's results. Mynx continues enjoying being back from maternity leave in the latest Dear Mynx, where she answers questions on spooge, large penii, and she manages to coerce id Software's Graeme Devine to tell us the really strange story about his first time. Pappy R treated us to the newest From the Hardcore Side, giving us even more wicked teamplay strategies. Finally, Love2Play painstakingly crafted the latest TechMailbag, wherein she answers all the technical questions that yours truly is too clueless to answer.
Hellchick gives us the scoop on the Battletop Q3A tourney she spent all day Saturday attending (she saw Carmen Electra!). Lee'Mon treats us to more of Generations. Beatdown 22 starts on Friday! RA3 later on today! The regular features will be there! How could you possibly miss the next week at PQ?
Question of the Damned
Well, it's most likely time for this question, given that Rocket Arena Q3A will be released later today, so here goes: "How much are you looking forward to playing RA3?"
I'm looking forward to RA3 because I never actually played it for the other Quakes (yes, yes, please direct your emails of disbelief to my delete folder). I hear it makes you a more skilled player. And if there's something I need, it's skill. Anyone selling any?
Let's see, lots, tons, huge amounts, quite a bit, can't wait. I'm kinda hoping it's pretty damned cool.
I'm looking forward to RA3 as much as I'm looking forward to ANY free time. Between my real-world jobs, scrambling for GameSpy on the ASUS situation, attempting to recover Generations Chapter 6 from my laptop, and being out of town half the weekend, I can't wait to have enough free time to once again play ANYTHING Q3A...
I'm so anxious, I'm sweating! Oh, wait, that's because it's sweltering hot outside and I'm wearing all these jackets. But to answer the question, I've been looking forward to it since Q3A came out. It will be the mod to end all mods.
Remember, if you want to submit a Question of the Damned, just e-mail me!
Spyke's Profound Thought
Seriously, I can't wait for RA3. I don't recall ever anticipating a mod this much. I wonder how many people are going to figuratively die waiting for this? If you die waiting for RA3, please send me an e-mail. In other gaming news, the demo for Elite Force ruled (I finally finished it), and I have yet to try the Kiss Psycho Circus demo; I should probably do that soon. I'm coming up on my one year anniversary here at PQ in about 2 weeks. Yaay!
