PQ in Review
Spyke recaps last week and all the things you may have missed!
- by Spyke

PQ In Review: PQMania XI

Woo woo! I think I'll try not to say "this week" that much this, um.. time. Also, I will stop making references to the number of this PQ in Review in the grande scheme of things (I number them!). Lots of good stuff, a new PQ staff member, who I'm sure will bully me into doing more and getting paid less (I get paid?).. Get on the train, as it ain't stoppin' till Alberqueque (or perhaps Tijuana)!

News

Wow, we've been stuffed full of content. We were treated to a spectacular, just-released Mod of the Week in Leper Q2, a mod that just makes me (and everyone else, for that matter) fall apart. Something that we'll be seeing a lot more of next week (more on that in the Coming Soon section), the Model of the Week was Darth Maul, who, if I may interject my opinion, is a helluva lot scarier than R2-D2, but not quite as frightening as C-3PO.. something about that damned gold droid just gets my goat, and I just want to.. nevermind. Related to the Model of the Week, brand-spanking new Site Director Hellchick ( click here for an interview with the enigmatic aforementioned Hellchick) did her very own interview with Wrath and MrRogers, creators of the Darth Maul model. As always, we have the ever-present Levels of the Week, for your favorite games (and mine, if you don't count Minesweeper), Quake 1 and Quake 2! Deathmatch and single-player levels shown, CTF not included (maybe they should be..). As if you thought it couldn't get any worse.. over at Cranky Steve's, having recently rebounded from death, Steve has been forced to yet again review the worst map ever! This one got a -51, which was formerly just not possible. And no, Erik didn't make it. Surprised? I am too! For the Nth time in a row (I'm too lazy to keep count), the Poll was delivered, on time! Answer our prying questions about pr0n, single-player, music and Pikachu! Considering we haven't had an editorial in a while, Novus whipped up his Purist's Guide to FPS Multiplayer Design, focusing on what the hardest of the hardcore and the newbies need. Mynx is still knocked-up sick, thus we have The Best of Mynx's Embarrasment Spotlights, with embarrassing situations from the vaults, including ones from Paul Steed, Tom Hall, and Stevie "KillCreek" Case! And, last but not least, I have commandeered the mailbag! Yes, that's right, freaks, I am your new master, so you can send me stupid e-mail and I will make you famous!

Coming Soon

Coming Soon: Big stuff, big stuff. Next week, Q2PMP relaunches, as Polycount, an all-encompassing modelling site. Thus, the week will be full of model-related fun and games. We'll have interviews with modellers, model packs every day, and just tons of models, models, models. And, of course, the Mod of the Week, Levels of the Week, and my wonderful mailbag!

Question of the Damned

A changing of the guard has taken place, as we replace the ever-so-busy Fargo, Shaithis, and Fragmaster with Hellchick! She's so big (not literally), she takes the space of three men! This week's question: "If PlanetQuake were an animal, which animal would it be?"

Hellchick:

If PQ were an animal it would be a brachiosaurus, you know, one of those vegetable-eating dinosaurs. But it would be cool 'cause it would be big. Yeah, really BIG. And it would have LASERS on its head. Yeah!! And, like, Sherman tank treads for FEET!! And it would shoot fire sixty feet in the air!! And it's eyes would be red and fiery and it would go ROOOWWWRRRRRRR and ---

Spyke:

In my not so humble opinion, PQ would be a wild boar. A big, hairy-assed wild boar, devouring all of the Quake scene, and its flatulence providing news to the remaining peons. Bwahahaha! It would be an astronaut-eating wild boar.

Spyke's Profound Thought

Okay children, it's time to get serious here, as you know I never do. Since Tuesday, many readers have been wondering where Lowtax has been. I have elected to bring the news that Lowtax has left PlanetQuake, and Hellchick has stepped into his shoes. Hellchick and I send our best wishes to Lowtax in all future endeavours. We'll miss ya, pal.

- Spyke
