Hey folks , Was wonderin if someone could tell me why
i keep gettin marked as a Z-bot and kicked out of the
game? I have no bots on my computer, is there a
command for this or maybe some kind of hack? The part
that bugs me is I'm not even very good , at least not
good enough to think I'm a bot and kick me outa the
game.Anyways if theres an explaination for "why or how
" this is happening I was told you folks would know.
Thanks for your time Tom
There is a chance that you inadvertantly downloaded one. Either from a server or in a bot file. My
suggestion is to reinstall completely and take only the maps and models, no bot files with you. However, there are some servers running
Administration programs that detect high speed connections as zbots. It's incompetetant, but a reality.
I'm having a bit of trouble with Q3
It loads fine, but when i start to play, it crashes after a very short ammount of time.
I think its to do with my video card.
I'm running Windows ME with a TNT2 (32mb) AGP card.
(PIII 667 128mb RAM)
I was wondering if there is any patches or any setting i need to change to prevent it from crashing?
You are most likely 100% correct. You video card is probably overheating. The easy way to know is to take
the case cover off, put a small houses fan up to it and see if the problem goes away. If so, time fo ra cooler.
If not there are a few more considerations. Did you install the latest drivers? Did you install beta drivers and the
older ones worked better? Put the older ones back. Did you install Directx 8? Most video card drivers do not have Directx 8 certified drivers
yet. This can cause problems.
Did you move any cards around recently and bump IRQ's? Did you change anything in your setup or change your
Note about WinME: I found that it hates changing video drivers. And it's system restore files will drive
you nuts hanging on to everything old. I couldn't even delete a Trojan because it was permanently stored in the Restore files of WinME.
I just downloaded the Bazooka Quake3 mod. I extracted the zip to my quake3
directory. They want me to type "quake3.exe +set fs_game bq3" now to start it up. Where in the heck do I do that??? If I know this then I'll be home
There really was no point in them telling you that, if you start Quake3 and at the first menu choose Mods, it will be listed in your Mods menu to
choose it. The use of fs_game is normally to run a dedicated server.
